Approximately 170 staff members and ten managers oversee, lead, and develop operations that accommodate about 270 inmates. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but the facility also employs healthcare professionals, administrative personnel, educators, production managers, and others. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or woodworking, handicraft, and packaging/assembly industries. Inmates also operate an ecological farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. Both facilities are within walking distance of each other and are accessible by bus or car. At both facilities, you will park free of charge in our staff parking area. Job Responsibilities The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides certain open health and medical care, which means all correctional facilities and remand prisons have health clinics where inmates can seek care. As a nurse, you both maintain your own clinic for assessment of minor conditions and evaluate which patients should see a physician. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at physician consultations, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. At the Färingsö facility/remand prison, three nurses currently work with shared responsibility for the facility and remand prison. The coordinating nurse is included in one of these positions. In Stockholm West Business Area, the Svartsjö facility also employs three nurses. Together, these nurses will form the Stockholm West Business Area's healthcare team with a shared manager. The nurses at Stockholm West Business Area will cover for each other during training, vacation, or other absences. Furthermore, your approach is expected to contribute to all individuals being treated equitably. We are seeking someone who is confident, stable, and responsible. You work well with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and composed. You have the ability to independently make sound assessments and judgments. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service places great emphasis on documentation and the ability to follow established procedures; therefore, we see that you are thorough and quality-conscious. The governing regulations are the Health and Medical Care Act and the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's laws and regulations. Introduction and training will be provided upon employment.
