About the position As Group Manager for IT Development Model and Storage, you report to the Unit Manager for IT Development. We are seeking a section chief for our Service Development section, with a focus on systems development. This responsibility encompasses operations where we create, develop, and decommission our own business systems. The needs for the agency's services are changing rapidly, and we work intensively together to develop operations so that we can carry out our mission from parliament and government with maximum efficiency, quality, and service. Stakeholders in the work include not only the Swedish Migration Agency in Sweden but also Swedish embassies, other Swedish authorities, and the EU. Our systems need to be operational 24/7 because it is always business hours at foreign service locations somewhere in the world, within our own detention facilities, or at the Swedish border. Your role as Section Chief – Service Development Section You will be responsible for a section with 7 unit managers and just over 100 employees plus consultants. Your primary task is to lead unit managers and plan the section's operations based on time and budget so that we gradually increase our capacity and capability. The Swedish Migration Agency has extensive experience in developing its own systems and, as a result of significant and ongoing expansion of IT operations, we are currently working to intensively develop the systems development process. You will be an important participant in that work. As section chief, you communicate and lead toward strategic goals through the managers of the units within the section. You have overall responsibility for employees, budget, and work environment. You are part of the department's management group where you contribute to the department's operational development. Your closest colleagues are our five other section chiefs, department manager, and assistant department manager. You have an important role in leading change work in accordance with the Swedish Migration Agency's operational plan and operational strategy. As section chief, you work to develop the section and ensure an efficient organization with a maintained good work environment. The work takes place in very close collaboration with the other sections and with the department's management group. Who are you? You who are applying have: Academic education in IT or systems development or other education combined with relevant and current experience for the role within work related to IT and systems development. Several years of experience within a systems development organization. Current managerial experience with responsibility for budget, employees, and work environment. Experience as a manager of other managers and management group experience. Several years of experience leading and developing operations in change with documented good results. Experience working in complex organizations with many stakeholders and the ability to understand regulations. Ability to express yourself fluently in Swedish and English.
