About the position The position involves research assistance in the project "Healthy Aging and Culturally Adapted Food in Indigenous Communities in Sweden and India" conducted by an interdisciplinary research team at SLU and Umeå University. The department also houses the Center for Nature Guidance (CNV). The department is the largest at SLU in the social sciences, humanities, and design. Issues concerning sustainable use of natural resources and landscapes are central to the department's research, teaching, and collaboration. The department employs approximately 160 people. The assistant position is within the Rural Development Division. We focus on how ideas about development have material consequences in both the global north (particularly in Sweden and Europe) and the global south. Our research, teaching, and collaboration focus on issues of justice, knowledge, and power in agriculture and forestry, natural resource management, and rural development. The project is funded through the Novo Nordisk Foundation's Pioneer Innovator Grant, which is based on an invention encompassing the method and apparatus for determining electrolyte amount in commercial lithium-ion batteries. Responsibilities Assist in setting up and conducting experiments to study electrolyte behavior in commercial lithium-ion batteries, under the guidance of the project's researchers. Support the ongoing operation and maintenance of the test bench, including data logging and basic troubleshooting of the software interface. Perform gas solubility measurements in electrolyte formulations according to established protocols. Contribute to documenting experimental procedures and results in lab notebooks, standard operating procedures (SOP), and internal reports. Participate in project team meetings and contribute to data organization and preliminary analysis.
