We are now recruiting teaching assistants in Scientific Methodology (VF) About the position We are seeking teaching assistants whose work will consist of teaching practical sessions in the Medical Faculty's undergraduate programs. Tasks may also occur outside of term time and may include administrative duties, participation in examinations, and other work as agreed. Your responsibilities in Scientific Methodology will include supporting student learning during practical sessions in the Medical Faculty's undergraduate programs. As a teaching assistant, you will have teaching assignments in T1 and T5 of the medical program. Teaching covers statistics, epidemiology, and SPSS (statistical software). Preparation and follow-up work are part of your responsibilities. About you We require that you are enrolled in a program at the Medical Faculty; an appropriate educational background is ongoing medical studies in semester 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10. Other educational backgrounds will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. You must have completed and received a passing grade in the courses/topics within the areas you will teach and be well familiar with problem-based learning (PBL). You must have proficiency in spoken and written Swedish as teaching is conducted in Swedish. As a person, you are organized and interested in pedagogy. You will work in a team of teaching assistants led by an instructor. You will also have support from a senior teaching assistant with supervisory responsibilities. You have the ability to work independently and in teaching teams. You should have a creative approach to problem-solving and demonstrate good collaboration and communication skills. Employees are involved in education at both undergraduate and advanced levels within the Medical Faculty. About the employment Only those enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced program are eligible for employment as a teaching assistant. Since teaching is conducted on-site in Linköping, a requirement is that your place of study is Linköping or Norrköping. An employee working as a teaching assistant may engage in work within teaching, administration, or participation in research or artistic development work. Employment as a teaching assistant may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time, one year at a time with extension up to three years. Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Security clearance may be conducted before an employment decision is made. This includes responsibility for ensuring the right instruments and materials are available, being prepared for any emergencies that might arise, thinking ahead but acting in the present. The operating room nurse is responsible for positioning the patient in a way that prevents injury while also achieving the optimal surgical position. This requires good knowledge of surgical technique and anatomy as well as perioperative nursing care. During the year, you'll alternate between observing with the operating room nurse and working independently in the pre-op area, where you'll receive and optimize patients preparing for surgery—work that provides valuable clinical experience and patient contact. Work is prioritized on an ongoing basis with the responsible manager and conducted in close collaboration with, among others, process engineer, quality/measurement function, and tool maintenance.
