You are responsible for assessment, investigation, and treatment of patients with both common and complex internal medical conditions, and you actively participate in rounds, prioritization, and planning of patient flows. Job Description As a senior physician in the spine section, you work in both outpatient and inpatient operations with a focus on advanced spine surgery. The work is interprofessional and team-based with close collaboration with other specialties and regular multidisciplinary conferences. On-call duty is included in the position. The clinic staffs a middle-level on-call, orthopedic backup on-call, and a separate spine backup on-call line 24/7 in support of healthcare providers throughout the Southeast Healthcare Region. The spine section is responsible for thoracic and lumbar spine surgery while the neurosurgery clinic handles cervical spine. Education and research are a natural part of the work, and there are good opportunities to combine clinical practice with research, education and academic development. As a spine surgery section leader, you have a central role in developing and strengthening the operations in the long term. The position involves medical leadership of the spine operations and strategic development work in close collaboration with the operations manager, colleagues and other professionals. The role includes, among other things, developing care processes and treatment methods, taking responsibility for care programs and patient flows, contributing to research and education, and coordinating collaborations within and outside the clinic.
