We conduct a training program to strengthen the future supply of operating room nurses. ANOPIVA offers you the opportunity to gain insight over approximately 6 months into the operating room nurse's responsibilities and tasks. After completing the trainee program, if you're interested, you can apply to specialist education in operating room nursing, and you would also apply for an educational position with us. After completing your education, you'll receive a permanent employment contract with us. As a trainee nurse in the operating room, you'll gain close insight into the operating room nurse's work. You'll work in a team with anesthesia and operating room staff and be an important part of the care surrounding the patient undergoing surgery. During the year, you'll have a mentor who will guide you and help and support you with various questions that arise. Throughout the year, you'll have the opportunity to observe different sections here in the central operating room to truly get a feel for the interesting work that operating room nurses do. Job Description The operating room department faces high standards—it must be safe and efficient with high quality. An operating room nurse combines nursing expertise with advanced knowledge of medical technology. A large part of the work involves instrumenting and assisting during surgery. This includes responsibility for ensuring the right instruments and materials are available, being prepared for any emergencies that might arise, thinking ahead but acting in the present. The operating room nurse is responsible for positioning the patient in a way that prevents injury while also achieving the optimal surgical position. This requires good knowledge of surgical technique and anatomy as well as perioperative nursing care. During the year, you'll alternate between observing with the operating room nurse and working independently in the pre-op area, where you'll receive and optimize patients preparing for surgery—work that provides valuable clinical experience and patient contact. You'll also gain insight into the sterilization department's work and postoperative care. Work Team In the operating room, you'll work in a team with operating room nurses, surgical assistants, anesthesia nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons. In pre-op, you'll work with nurses, physician assistants, and anesthesiologists. About You We're looking for you—a licensed nurse. Experience of at least one year working as a nurse is desirable. Since you'll work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it's a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We're looking for someone with an interest in potentially pursuing further education in operating room nursing and who is interested in gaining greater insight into what it means to work as an operating room nurse. You should have a strong interest in advanced and specialized healthcare and be motivated to pursue further education. As a person, you work well in collaboration and can quickly adapt to different situations. You should have the ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently.
