About Our Facility for Carbon Capture At Värtan, where our combined heat and power plant already produces sustainable electricity and heat from residual products such as wood chips, branches, and tops from the forest industry, we are now building a full-scale carbon capture facility to create even greater climate benefits. Bio-CCS is a technology that captures biogenic carbon dioxide before it reaches the atmosphere and then stores it permanently in the bedrock, creating negative emissions since the carbon dioxide is separated from the biogenic cycle. Permanent negative emissions are the tool that can be used to counteract emissions that are difficult or impossible to eliminate. It is a necessary puzzle piece to reach climate goals and net-zero emissions. The facility will be able to capture up to 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year—more than what all of Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. What Can We Offer You? About the role as Financial Controller The work as Financial Controller is broad, ranging from theoretical investigations to more daily operational work. A large part of Ellevio's billing and accounts receivable process is handled internally by a function outside of Finance, and other transaction-based services, such as accounts payable, fixed asset accounting, and certain accounting services are outsourced. Instead of working operationally with these tasks, we in Financial Control are responsible for governance, requirement setting, and quality assurance of the processes and function as support to the internal and external functions in their daily work. With us, you get a central role linked to Ellevio's billing process; Accounts Receivable (AR). You function as the link between Finance and our billing, claims, and credit functions as well as outsourcing partners and ensure that internal controls, legal requirements, and accounting principles are complied with. The role also includes independent accounting responsibility for four smaller holding companies. You will, among other things: Be responsible for accounting, reconciliations, and analyses related to the AR process. Be responsible for closing work, reconciliations, and preparation of annual reports for the holding companies. Work with VAT, energy tax, tax declaration basis, and contacts with the Swedish Tax Agency. Ensure quality in monthly and annual closing as well as contribute with reporting and monitoring such as analysis of doubtful receivables. Drive and participate in improvement work within billing, payment solutions, systems, and working methods. Work closely with Business Control, billing/accounts receivable, outsourcing partners, auditors, and other parts of the Finance function. What you need to succeed and thrive in the role We are looking for someone with a higher education or university degree in economics, or equivalent experience, and who has worked independently for a few years with accounting and preparing monthly and annual closing. You have a good understanding of the Annual Accounts Act (ÅRL) and accounting regulations such as K3 and are accustomed to handling large amounts of data in Excel. Your ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, also needs to be very good.
