The Medical Acute Care Department (MAVA) is part of Internal Medicine in Gävle and has 20 patient beds. We care for acutely ill patients with medical conditions. The main diagnoses on the department are liver cirrhosis, liver failure, heart problems/arrhythmias, intoxication and addiction, diabetes, electrolyte disturbances, as well as patients with other medical conditions such as infections, COPD or general decline.
