Registered Nurse for Medical Acute Care Department

The Medical Acute Care Department (MAVA) is part of Internal Medicine in Gävle and has 20 patient beds. We care for acutely ill patients with medical conditions. The main diagnoses on the department are liver cirrhosis, liver failure, heart problems/arrhythmias, intoxication and addiction, diabetes, electrolyte disturbances, as well as patients with other medical conditions such as infections, COPD or general decline. We work toward rapid patient flow and short hospital stays. 2 position(s). JOB DUTIES At MAVA, work is divided within each care team between a registered nurse and a nursing assistant, and together you are responsible for five patients. Night staffing is divided between two registered nurses and two nursing assistants. In addition to the care teams, we have a receptionist and a care coordinator. As a registered nurse with us, you will work with among other things • preparation and administration of medications • making rapid assessments to maintain high patient flow • coordination of nursing and medical interventions in close collaboration with nursing assistants, physicians and paramedics • identifying risks and implementing measures based on the nursing process. You have good collaboration skills, are responsive when working with patients and colleagues, and communicate clearly and professionally. You work in a structured way, can prioritize your tasks efficiently, and contribute to good teamwork with the patient's best interests in focus. In the role as registered nurse you should • be a licensed registered nurse with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare • be able to communicate fluently in Swedish both verbally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have experience working in acute care or other acute settings. We welcome both newly graduated registered nurses and those with experience in the profession. You have an interest in acute care, want to develop broad and general competence in the field, and appreciate working in a team. Interviews take place on a rolling basis.
