Women's Health in Gävleborg is divided between two locations, Gävle and Hudiksvall. The delivery unit in Gävle handles approximately 1500-2000 deliveries per year and provides obstetric outpatient services including ultrasound. Gynecology is currently primarily outpatient-based services including abortion services, urogynecology, fertility treatments, general gynecology, and gynecologic oncology. Surgical operations are conducted at the main operating room, day surgery, and outpatient surgery. The maternity/gynecology ward has 18 patient beds. Women's Health in Gävle employs 38 physicians, of whom ten are resident physicians. We actively work to train our own specialists and have a steady flow of newly specialized physicians.

WORK TASKS
As an assistant physician with us, you will work in both gynecological outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. You will become part of a safe and committed work team where support and the opportunity to consult experienced colleagues are always available.
The role includes
• responsibility for patient admissions and discharges
• participation in rounds and medical assessments
• conducting somatic examinations
• documentation and participation in consultations
• conducting medication reviews
• working in gynecological outpatient clinics with examinations, ultrasound, and assessments with support from on-call backup
• participation in weekend daytime on-call duty as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with a strong interest in obstetrics and gynecology, who is responsible, flexible, and communicative, and who enjoys collaborating with others.
As an assistant physician, you should have
• Swedish physician license, which we ask you to include with your application
• good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written, corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.
It is a merit if you have experience working in Swedish healthcare, particularly within obstetrics and gynecology. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: October 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027.
