Professor in Swedish Language
The Swedish Language subject area at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is in a strong development phase. The subject has examination rights up to advanced level. Teaching is provided through standalone courses, courses in teacher education programs, master's programs, and commissioned education. Currently, 10 people work within the subject on full-time and part-time basis, including one professor. Research within the subject has particular strengths in literacy, students' writing development, and subject didactics and educational research. Responsibilities Responsibilities include overall responsibility for research within the subject, conducting own research, teaching, and supervision. The Professor is expected to contribute to developing the subject's research profile and to initiate, lead, and conduct research projects, including applications for external research funding. The role also includes supervising at various levels and contributing to the development of the research environment through collegial collaboration and research-informed education. The Professor is also responsible for developing the subject's role within teacher education with particular focus on subject didactics research and education, and the higher education pedagogical initiative Skrivlyftet at Mid Sweden University. Administrative tasks may also be included. The position includes conducting own research in accordance with the Faculty Board's guidelines for professors. Qualifications To be appointed as a professor, one must have demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical competence. For professor qualification, higher education pedagogy training comprising at least 15 higher education credits, or at least 10 weeks of full-time studies is required. Job Responsibilities NDH Design is now seeking a postdoctoral researcher who should primarily work within the research project "Design with Participation – older adults as requirement setters for more person- and user-centered assistive devices". The project aims to investigate in a Swedish context how assistive devices can be made more person- and user-centered based on older people with mobility and functional limitations and their lived experiences, needs, requirements and expectations of assistive devices. The focus is on investigating conditions for more person- and user-centered assistive device provision, where older people are not merely recipients but active requirement setters. The position is linked to a research project investigating strategic advocacy and lobbying in relation to environmental, climate and sustainability issues. The project focuses on issues where multiple actors, conflicting interests and competing visions of the future meet. The aim is to create new knowledge about how various organizations, companies, authorities, interest organizations and other actors attempt to influence norms, public opinion, policy development and societal transformation. The research project studies, among other things: strategic advocacy and lobbying on environmental, climate and sustainability issues, how organizations and interest groups use narratives, arguments and claims to influence societal development, how different actors position themselves, negotiate and seek influence and legitimacy in connection with the green transition, the role of communication in political processes, policy development and societal change. As a doctoral student, you will develop and implement your own thesis project within this research direction. The project will be shaped in dialogue with your supervisors and the research environment, but should clearly relate to issues of strategic communication, advocacy, sustainable development and societal transformation. Examples of empirical areas include forest issues, food systems, energy transition, industrial establishments or other sustainability-related policy areas. You will work closely with researchers within DEMICOM and have the opportunity to contribute to joint publications, data collection and research applications. Eligibility Basic eligibility is held by anyone who has completed an advanced level degree or fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits are at an advanced level, or who has in any other way acquired essentially equivalent knowledge within or outside the country. Special eligibility is held by those who have at least 90 higher education credits in media and communication science or who have in any other way acquired essentially equivalent knowledge within or outside the country.
