About the Operations The vascular-thoracic operations area encompasses three specialties: thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and thoracic anesthesia and intensive care. We provide highly specialized care in the form of heart and lung surgery, advanced vascular surgery with endovascular focus, arrhythmia surgery in various forms, and advanced intensive care including ECMO. Within the operations area, approximately 1,500 surgical procedures are performed each year. Our most important overarching goals are high quality and good accessibility with the patient in focus. Research and development have high priority and are conducted in several areas. The operations are characterized by forward-thinking, teamwork, and good collaboration. About the Operation The Eye Care Department is one of Sweden's five largest eye care operations. Our university hospital care consists of two units: a medical unit with extensive outpatient care and a surgical unit.
