Our current area director is retiring after many successful years, and we are now seeking a new area director for Welfare and Public Health. This is a key role for you who want to contribute to the development of future welfare by bringing together municipalities, the region, authorities, and civil society around common solutions to some of today's greatest societal challenges. Job Responsibilities As area director, you lead, together with stakeholders and your team members, the development of collaboration between the region, municipalities, civil society, and other actors in matters concerning social welfare, public health, and healthcare and medical care. The assignment involves creating common direction, momentum, and results in complex development issues where different perspectives need to be unified. You have overall responsibility for the area's operations, personnel, work environment, and finances. In your leadership, you create clarity, direction, and good conditions for employees to develop operations and achieve set goals, and you are experienced in collaborating with union representatives. The area works for regional collaboration between Region Örebro County, the county's municipalities, and civil society on matters including: public health care close to home elderly affairs children and youth disabilities harmful use and addiction financial support knowledge and method development within social services and healthcare and medical care. You lead work to develop and coordinate these issues based on the Regional Development Strategy and other politically decided goals. The assignment also involves representing Region Örebro County in regional and national networks within your area of responsibility. You report to the department director and are part of the department's management team. There you are expected to contribute with a holistic perspective and actively participate in the development of the entire department. The role involves close collaboration with the political organization. You are responsible for preparing matters and presenting them for political decisions.
