We at the Specialist Maternal Care Unit are now seeking an obstetric ultrasound midwife, or a midwife who would like to further train to become an obstetric ultrasound midwife. At the Specialist Maternal Care Unit, we perform fetal diagnostics and specialist care during pregnancy. We work in a team with midwives, nursing assistants, physicians, and medical care administrators. Annually, we perform approximately 9,500 examinations, which include obstetric ultrasounds and invasive sampling. We have 10 midwives working with obstetric ultrasounds. Job Duties As an obstetric ultrasound midwife with us, you independently perform obstetric ultrasound examinations including early ultrasounds, routine ultrasounds, growth monitoring, and blood flow measurements. Your duties also include telephone counseling and care of pregnant women with complicated pregnancies. You work closely with experienced colleagues in a warm and professional team where we help each other and learn from one another. With us, you receive regular continuing education. Training in ultrasound involves practical training with an experienced obstetric ultrasound midwife. Initially, the training will be concentrated on routine ultrasounds and growth monitoring. Before you are certified, you will complete SFOG's advanced course in obstetric ultrasound, with both practical and theoretical examinations. Work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, though some evening shifts may occur. Qualifications We seek someone who is a licensed midwife.
