We care for patients primarily from plastic, maxillofacial, and otolaryngology surgery, as well as breast-endocrine and certain neurosurgical patients. The majority of our operations are planned, but emergency admissions occur. We work in new facilities in the H building. Responsibilities As Assistant Unit Manager, you lead and plan the daily operations of the department. Working together with the Unit Manager, you drive and develop healthcare forward. You assist the Unit Manager with responsibilities including personnel, staffing, deviation management, work environment, and operations development. You substitute for the Unit Manager during their absence. The position includes both clinical and administrative tasks. Qualifications Licensed nurse. Strong leadership qualities and management experience. Previous nursing experience with patients in plastic surgery or otolaryngology, rhinology, and laryngology is advantageous. About the Position: The position involves a permanent employment at 100% as a nurse in Department 42, with a fixed-term assignment as Assistant Unit Manager. About the Operations The Sensory Center operational area is a new operational area within Region Örebro County that includes the specialties of Otolaryngology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Venereology, Orofacial Medicine (OFM), and Plastic Surgery. Operations are conducted at Örebro University Hospital (USÖ), as well as at the district hospitals in Karlskoga and Lindesberg. The purpose of the merger is to strengthen strategic coordination and create a common infrastructure, improve/optimize care flows and collaboration regarding hospital beds, and create synergy effects, e.g., within surgical dermatology center. We also see that it will strengthen the academic profile with increased research and coordination of support functions and clarify and profile highly specialized care within the field of sensory organs—regionally and nationally. The new operational area will include approximately 420 employees, working at Region Örebro County's three hospitals. Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three emergency hospitals where we conduct advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award from the newspaper Dagens Medicin for Best University Hospital.
