Water is our most essential resource, and Gotland's water supply is an important and timely issue. The Planning and Development Unit is part of the Water and Waste Department. The Water and Waste Department works on development, renewal, and operation of our facilities such as water sources, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pipeline networks, landfills, and recycling centers. Nurse/Ophthalmic Nurse
The eye care department offers basic and, to some extent, highly specialized eye care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents. Operations are conducted in close collaboration with other surgical and medical specialties. Continuous efforts are made to develop the department and thereby improve care for Gotland's population. We have approximately 13-14,000 visits per year where we provide outpatient care in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and eyelid operations, as well as medical retina clinic with injection services. The department has primary on-call responsibility during daytime and standby on-call duty on weekends. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred primarily to the eye clinics at St Eriks Eye Hospital or Uppsala Academic Hospital. We have continuously visiting consultant physicians with specialist knowledge in, among other areas, pediatric ophthalmology, corneal diseases, cataract surgery, and plastic surgery, for example for tumor, eyelid, tear duct, and strabismus operations. We have approximately 3-4 specialists per week and 1-2 resident physicians. Our team includes roles such as ophthalmic nurse, nurse, assistant nurse, optician, and orthoptist. The clinic is well-equipped with, among other things, multispot laser, YAG laser, Humphrey perimetry, and OCT. As a nurse, you will gain both broad and deep expertise within your field of competence, as Visby Hospital, the island's only acute care hospital, handles all of the island's eye patients. Visby Hospital has a broad healthcare mission and provides Gotland with both acute and planned specialist care. The island location requires the resources of a large hospital while simultaneously offering the proximity and sense of community of a smaller hospital. A large number of services are represented within both surgical and medical specialties. The ENT department is responsible for ear, nose, and throat care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents and handles around 7,000 visits per year. The department operates in close collaboration with other surgical specialties, the dermatology clinic, and the Oral and Maxillofacial Center. We strive to maintain as much ENT care as possible at Visby Hospital. We have an established collaboration with Stockholm and receive recurring consulting physicians in tumor surgery, otologic surgery, plastic surgery, audiology, and phoniatrics from there. Patients requiring highly specialized care are primarily referred to Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. The ENT department has six chief physician positions and is currently undergoing a generational transition. Environmental Coordinator
Water is our most vital resource, and Gotland's water supply is one of our most pressing issues. As an Environmental Coordinator with us, you'll have a key role in this work, as the position's primary focus is on Water and Wastewater (VA) – everything from water sources to distribution networks and treatment plants. The entire department consists of approximately 130 dedicated colleagues. The department also includes waste management operations, which are currently facing exciting challenges in collection and recycling to reduce Region Gotland's carbon footprint. You will be part of the Administration and Development unit – a broad and skilled group of 14 employees who serve as a shared resource within the VA and waste management department. Nursing Assistant Night Shift
