Structural Engineer for Power Systems
Building a sustainable society requires commitment and the ability to integrate individual areas of expertise into a complete solution. This is part of our daily work. We are now seeking experienced structural engineers who want to help enable Sweden's energy transition. Within the Power Systems business unit, we work with the design and detailed engineering of power lines and substations within regional and transmission networks. The projects we work on are conducted as team-based consulting assignments with a mix of junior and senior experts. As an employee at Norconsult Sverige, you will primarily work on projects in the Swedish market, but you are also positive about participating in projects in other markets. The majority of our projects involve expanding and upgrading power grids to enable a fossil-free energy system with solar, wind, and hydropower. Our specialized expertise is in the design and engineering of power lines and switchgear at voltage levels of 130-400 kV. We perform detailed designs of switchgear and power line towers, conduct inspections during construction, and perform inspections of facilities within regional and transmission networks. Job Responsibilities The position focuses on experimental and computational fracture mechanics. A central aspect of the work involves experimental testing of mini-CT specimens combined with numerical modeling. The primary goal is to improve existing methods for characterizing fracture toughness in ductile materials. The use of miniature specimens in assessing structural integrity is a rapidly developing field and includes questions about geometry effects and the transferability of laboratory results to real components. The project aims to develop an integrated testing and computation-based methodology that can be standardized from a regulatory perspective. You will work in a research environment together with other researchers focused on material and fracture mechanical issues related to metallic materials of interest to process industry, with parts of the project being conducted in collaboration with the Swedish nuclear power industry. Qualifications Required Completed PhD or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. This qualification requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. Nature Protection Specialist with GIS Expertise, Fixed-Term Position
Do you want to work to preserve and protect valuable nature? We are looking for a dedicated employee who wants to be part of our work protecting natural areas and valuable nature in Stockholm County. What is included in the role? The work involves assessing habitat types in our Natura 2000 areas based on remote sensing and various forms of geodata, and reporting information in different systems such as webGIS and ArcGIS Pro. The work may include digital aerial image interpretation and field surveys. The unit also has other GIS-related tasks where ecological/biological expertise is needed. Among other things, we work on developing value areas for forests and within our ongoing work with area protection matters. You will independently compile data, conduct background analyses, inventory forest areas, and report results. This assignment is part of the County Administrative Board's work with the nature restoration regulation to implement the EU regulation on nature restoration.
