Postdoctoral Researcher in Microstructure-Informed Modeling of Fracture Mechanics

Job Responsibilities The position involves both experimental and numerical studies in fracture mechanics. The experimental work focuses on developing new specimen geometries to study defect evolution, especially void formation, under a broad spectrum of stress states, using advanced X-ray computed tomography (CT) in both interrupted and in situ tests. Initial studies will be conducted using the institution's own micro-CT equipment and will later be expanded to synchrotron experiments in collaboration with national and international partners. The experimental results will then be used to develop improved models for damage evolution in continuum-based nonlocal material models, adapted for implementation in finite element models for fracture analysis. These models will be applied to study the ductile-to-brittle transition in HSLA steel. Qualifications Requirements Completed doctoral degree or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. About the Role As an Information Manager, you are the hub of communication when traffic doesn't go as planned. You inform travelers via loudspeaker announcements, digital signs, the SL app, and sl.se, and maintain ongoing contact with SL's customer service, other traffic operators, internal staff, the press duty officer, and media. The work requires you to quickly absorb information, make correct assessments, and formulate clear messages – both verbally and in writing. The information management team is staffed between 6:00 AM and 10:25 PM every day of the year. Work Tasks As an Information Manager, you will, among other things: inform travelers, SL's customer service, our own staff, and other traffic operators about traffic disruptions. make loudspeaker announcements and publish information in our digital information channels. work according to applicable regulations, instructions, and checklists. work in multiple technical systems simultaneously. order replacement transportation in consultation with the traffic manager. monitor and report faults in information systems. follow the traffic situation and alert the traffic manager to delays and disruptions. administer and report incidents and deviations.
