Sweden's most beautiful workplace is seeking a Manager for the Pilot Transport Area Stockholm with responsibility for the pilot stations in Kapellskär, Svartklubben, and Sandhamn The business area's primary function is to conduct pilot boat transport operations The Transport and Fairway Service business area is part of the Swedish Maritime Administration's Business Division and is responsible for pilot boat transportation, with the main mission of safely and efficiently transporting pilots to and from vessels. Operations run 24/7, year-round, and through our expertise and presence, we contribute to safe and accessible maritime transport throughout Sweden. Sweden is divided into nine pilot transport areas along our long coastline. The manager of a pilot transport area is responsible for operational and strategic leadership, personnel matters, and business development within the area. As Pilot Transport Area Manager, you are responsible for leadership and development As manager of the pilot transport area Stockholm, you oversee staff distributed across the pilot stations in Kapellskär and Sandhamn, where Kapellskär personnel manage Svartklubben operations. You hold personnel responsibility, budget responsibility, operations responsibility, and responsibility for systematic workplace safety work in the area. The role involves numerous contact points and close collaboration with others in the piloting process as well as various functions within the Swedish Maritime Administration. You collaborate, among others, with pilot area managers within your area and the pilot planning function, as well as with functions within pilot boats and maintenance, facilities, marine technology, and development toward a fossil-free fleet. You report to the manager of the Transport and Fairway Service business area and are part of the business area's management team. Who are you? We are seeking someone with higher education in maritime affairs, logistics, or other education that we consider relevant for the position. You have current and several years of experience in management and leadership roles in a larger organization, in the private sector or public sector. You have current experience leading long-term and strategic change work in complex organizations as well as operational experience within maritime or logistics. The position involves some travel. You are also expected to be able to travel between our pilot stations and therefore a B-class driver's license is required. You must have excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. It is a merit if you have experience managing operations that run 24/7. This recruitment concerns a permanent employment position to be filled as soon as possible. The Swedish Maritime Administration may apply a six-month probationary period. Interviews will be held via Skype, provisionally week 42–43. The recruitment process includes tests via the Duty and Testing Board. You will be stationed at one of the pilot stations in Stockholm or the office in Rosenvik, Stockholm. The position may involve war placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.
