Right By Me is Hiring: Finance Manager and More
Right By Me, a nonprofit organization, is now seeking a "Finance Manager" for a permanent position at 50-100%. We envision you working 50% as our sole finance professional in a team of 10 employees, supported by an accounting firm that handles bookkeeping and payroll. While you take comprehensive control of our finances at 50%, we also see the role being filled with up to an additional 50% of something else we need, such as HR and organizational development, grant applications and reporting, internal coordination and administration, or something else we can agree on (feel free to suggest!). Perhaps you're looking for a part-time position and we can discuss that as well. However, the core of this role is finance responsibility. On the finance side, you'll support our Executive Director and Board with budgeting, tracking, and forecasting, and ensure we have well-functioning financial management. You'll also ensure we take responsibility for our project-based finances in relation to various funders and government agencies, and toward project managers and staff who carry project finances and need to thrive and develop within them. Many in our team are young former participants in our programs who are now developing further. You need to be able to simplify and explain financial processes/routines and educate the rest of our team. We need to see that you have previous experience with all of this. Furthermore, you'll be an especially strong fit for us if you have specific experience from the nonprofit sector, Giva Sverige's guidelines, and various types of project reporting to funders such as Allmänna Arvsfonden, MUCF, Socialstyrelsen, or similar. We believe you enjoy structure and clear systems, while also having great patience with the fact that we're a small and agile organization that often requires quick pivots, the ability to navigate uncertainty, and creative problem-solving. Application Deadline: August 20, 2026 Position: Finance Manager Employment Type: Permanent Vacation: 25+5 days Position Size: Part-time to Full-time, 50-100% Salary: Approximately 40,000 – 48,000 SEK per month depending on knowledge and experience, the level of responsibility you take on, and how well you match the existing team. Location: Our office in Stockholm (Barnängen, Södermalm). About Us Right By Me is a nonprofit organization working with and for young people with immigrant backgrounds. Through our youth-led programs focused on health (physical and mental), employment, and leadership, we work to enable our target group to drive their own development and actively participate at all levels of societal development. About the Role – What We Know As Finance Manager, you will, among other things: Be the main contact with our accounting firm. Handle ongoing internal financial administration, such as budget reconciliation, management of incoming invoices, and payroll reporting. Take responsibility for completing year-end accounts and auditing the organization's finances and operations. Support project managers with financial administration of projects and with project audits and reporting. Ensure compliance with authorization procedures and the parts of the delegation order that govern financial decisions. Review and further develop routines for financial administration. Support the Executive Director and Board with financial analysis, budgets, actuals, and forecasts. Monitor, analyze, and understand the external environment for opportunities and requirements for how Right By Me manages finances. Serve as an ally (see above about our workplace) for more junior staff members. The remaining 0-50% you can outline and justify in your application: Describe how you'd like that part of the role to look to match you and us – and why. Bring yourself, your strengths, and your ideas – together we'll see what can grow. You Should Have: At least 2 years of experience managing budgets, annual accounts, audits, and ongoing financial administration. Documented experience from nonprofit work, preferably with projects financed by actors such as Allmänna Arvsfonden, MUCF, Socialstyrelsen, or similar. Documented experience working with accounting systems such as Fortnox and with tools such as Google Sheets/Excel. Preferably (desirable) experience working with Giva Sverige's guidelines or similar. Preferably (desirable) experience training others. Understanding of what our vision means and your role and power position in it: "I lead my own development. Young people with the power to drive change for themselves and society at large." About Right By Me as a Workplace We are a testbed for social innovation. The future is shaped with us by questioning the established, showing courage, and embracing failures as part of learning. Our work environment is built on trust, safety, and unwavering belief in young people's power to drive change. We are an organization that harnesses our target group's strength and competence by hiring them and creating career paths. Today we have 8 full-time employees in our office, of whom 5 are young people who have participated in our programs. Each young person is supported by an ally. An ally is not a mentor or guide – they are a door opener and power shifter. Being an ally is not a support function; it is an obligation. The role is clear: to actively use your resources, network, and influence to open doors where young people are otherwise shut out and to secure the financial resources the work requires. To match our workplace, we're looking for someone who: Thrives in our environment of energy, laughter, ideas, innovation focus, and a challenging spirit. Holds many threads together, brings calm, and creates trust. Loves working in a team, close to the work, but is also self-directed and structured, good at taking own initiative and responsibility. Can be somewhat flexible – we're a young and dynamic organization in a transformative world. You yourself can in some way relate to our target group's challenges and opportunities. How to Apply: Welcome to submit your application with a CV and personal letter containing 3 points about why you're the right person for the finance role and approximately 3 points about what you'd fill the remaining 50% with (we'll of course have a dialogue about this if you move forward to the next stage, so don't think this is set in stone). Send your application to [email protected] with the subject line "Finance Manager" by August 20, 2026. NOTE: During weeks 29-32 we only respond to urgent emails due to summer vacation. Postdoctoral Researcher in Solid-State Batteries – Precision Manufacturing
Job Responsibilities The next major breakthrough in battery development is expected to be lithium solid-state batteries (SSB). This concept makes it possible to replace the highly flammable organic electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries with a safer and more compact solid electrolyte. As part of the Swedish national battery initiative COMPEL, which aims to support competence and excellence in battery research and education for the transport sector, KTH is launching a coordinated initiative on composite-SSB with seven postdoctoral positions from multiple disciplines, focusing on different aspects along the battery value chain, from synthesis, cell manufacturing, characterization, modeling to scaled-up production. Postdoctoral Researcher in Solid-State Batteries - Micromechanical Modeling of Cells
Job Responsibilities The next major leap in battery development is expected to be lithium solid-state batteries (SSB). This concept makes it possible to replace the highly flammable organic electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries with a safer and more compact solid electrolyte. As part of the Swedish state battery initiative COMPEL, which aims to support competence and excellence in battery research and education for the transportation sector, KTH is launching a coordinated initiative on composite-SSB with seven postdoctoral positions across multiple disciplines, focusing on different aspects along the battery value chain, from synthesis and cell manufacturing to characterization, modeling, and scaled production. The two-year postdoctoral project on Micromechanical Modeling and Mechanical Characterization of Contact, Interfaces, and Fracture in Solid-State Battery Cells is located at the Department of Engineering Mechanics (Division of Materials and Structural Mechanics) at the School of Engineering Science (SCI). In a solid-state cell, mechanics determines whether the cell functions: unlike a liquid electrolyte, a solid cell must build up and maintain every solid-solid contact under load, while ion insertion and extraction cause swelling and shrinkage, and interfaces between the active material, electrolyte, and current collector must maintain both adhesion and conductivity at the low stack pressures typical in real applications. The project develops a micromechanical modeling framework that resolves the cell at the particle and interface level and couples its mechanical state to its electrochemical performance, where interface delamination, fracture, and particle fragmentation are represented as the mechanisms that reshape the network of conductive contacts. The framework is validated against experimental data from COMPEL collaborations and delivers a design and operation map, including the cell's safe low-pressure window. The postdoctoral researcher will also contribute mechanical and structural characterization of materials and cells developed in the other projects. Qualifications Required A doctoral degree or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree in solid mechanics, engineering mechanics, computational mechanics, materials science, engineering physics, or a related field, with some experience in batteries or battery materials. This qualification requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. Good knowledge of written and spoken English, as required in daily work. Good skills in computation and numerical modeling, including finite element methods or multiphysics simulation and scientific programming. Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with special focus on gender equality. Meriting At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years since the doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree was awarded. Experience with solid-state or lithium-ion batteries and familiarity with the mechanics and characterization of battery materials and cells. Practical experience with coupled electro-chemo-mechanical modeling or phase-field modeling of fracture, contact and micromechanics for particle or composite materials, mechanical testing and X-ray tomography, and programming (e.g., Python, C++, or Fortran). Demonstrate an innovative mindset, creativity, and ability to work independently. Good ability to collaborate and ability and interest in working in a team. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. Become Part of KTH KTH shapes the future through education, research, and innovation.
