We are proud to combine our popular pediatric specialist clinic and child health clinic with a well-functioning primary care clinic and laboratory for the whole family. Our operations are growing and we are now seeking an engaged and driven specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine who wants to develop with us and provide Uppsala's children with the very best care. Job Responsibilities With us, you avoid hospital night shifts and heavy administration. Instead, you get to focus on what you do best – the clinical encounter with children and their parents. You will work with general pediatric outpatient care, which includes investigations and follow-ups of everything from asthma, allergies, and growth issues to more complex matters such as pain and neuropsychiatric conditions. What makes us special is our unique community. You work side by side with our pediatric nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, psychologists, midwives, and with the general practice clinic. Because we have everything under one roof, we can quickly discuss questions between the different services – something that is greatly appreciated by both us and families. What you will do: Provide planned and acute specialist care for children and young people (0–18 years). Work in close, unpretentious collaboration with our multidisciplinary team. Be a trusted sounding board and medical support for our pediatric nurses and others. Supervisor junior doctors (ST-läkare) in General Medicine. Contribute your ideas on how we can develop the clinic and become even better. Opportunity exists for greater medical responsibility, authority, and improvement/change work locally and within Region Uppsala. Qualifications Who are you? We are looking for you – a confident pediatrician who enjoys the dynamics of outpatient care. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You have a warm, pedagogical, and attentive manner – you understand that good cooperation with parents is required to help the child in the best way. You are comfortable with both independent work and teamwork. Previous outpatient care experience is a merit. What We Offer You Balance in life: Working hours during daytime on weekdays (no late evenings, nights, or weekends). A warm work environment: We are a close-knit, wonderful group with short decision-making processes where your voice matters. Experienced pediatrician colleagues: Engaged and experienced pediatrician colleagues and pediatric nurses. Good terms: Competitive salary, collective agreement, occupational pension, continuing education, wellness allowance, and other benefits. Uppsala as your base: Easy commuting and a central, pleasant location in the city. Terms The position is a permanent employment at 50-75% (or more if that suits you/your life puzzle better). Employment begins by agreement, no later than after the New Year. Since we work with children, we will ask for a criminal record extract before employment. Does this sound like your next workplace? How exciting! Send us your CV and a short personal letter right away. We meet candidates on an ongoing basis, so don't wait to get in touch. Do you have questions or would you perhaps like to stop by for a casual coffee and see the clinic first? Call or email us! Contact: Malin Friberg, Operations Manager: 070-167 40 56, [email protected] Fredrik Cederblad, Medical Director: 070-962 13 85, [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you. PhD Student in Technology

Department of Energy and Technology Doctoral Research Subject: Technology Description of the Doctoral Project: We are seeking a motivated PhD student to develop knowledge about how production systems for fast-growing hardwood trees should be modified to better adapt to a future where both the risk of and effects of unexpected events – as well as their negative consequences – increase. The work focuses on the climate impact of these unexpected events. The project is part of the activities at the competence center Trees for Me. Changes in the external environment linked to the consequences of climate change and political instability have become increasingly clear and evident in recent years. For example, the extent of forest fires, storms, and insect attacks has increased, and the consequences for forests have in some cases been catastrophic. However, there are measures that can reduce the risk of, and/or the effects of, most of these events; examples of such measures include changes in tree species selection and forest management strategies. Measures to reduce the occurrence and effects of unexpected, undesired events typically involve increased costs and/or reduced revenues in the short term. They also affect the system's overall climate impact. Converting forest management to completely eliminate the effects of all conceivable disturbances is not feasible; measures must instead be weighed against the risk of a disturbance occurring and the potential damage such an event could cause. Trees for Me is a competence center focused on fast-growing hardwood trees – such as poplar, aspen, hybrid aspen, and birch – for sustainable forests, materials, and energy. Around 20 partner organizations from academia, research institutes, industry, and the public sector collaborate within the center. The goal is to develop scientifically grounded, innovative solutions for – and build future competence in – a new and resilient system for supplying forest biomass, intended for processing into high-value material and energy products. In the second phase of Trees for Me, approximately ten new PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are now to be recruited. They will collaborate with actors across the entire forest value chain to build research competence and knowledge for the benefit of the energy and forest sectors. Duties: The PhD student is expected to read and critically review scientific literature in English and to publish and present results in scientific journals and at conferences. The PhD student shall also participate in doctoral training courses and contribute to the department's activities. Eligibility: Basic eligibility is held by those who have completed an advanced level degree, completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits at advanced level, or who in some other way within or outside the country have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 7 § 39). Specific eligibility for admission to doctoral training in the subject of Technology is held by those who have knowledge equivalent to at least 90 higher education credits in courses in technology-relevant subjects. These must include an independent work and at least 30 higher education credits must be at advanced level. For others, specific eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis with regard to the research task. Furthermore, you must have knowledge of English equivalent to a passing grade in English B/6 from Swedish upper secondary school. Your Background: Qualification Requirements: Advanced level degree (engineering or master's degree) in forest science, technology, natural resource economics, or a related field. Very strong ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Meritorious Qualifications: Knowledge within agriculture and forestry Bio-based products and energy Risk analysis Life cycle assessment (LCA) and modeling If one or two of these competencies are lacking, it is possible to supplement the knowledge base after admission. Great weight is placed on personal qualities, such as collaboration skills, analytical ability and problem-solving skills, motivation, and ability to work independently. About Us: The Department of Energy and Technology at the Center for Land, Water and Environment (MVM) offers a stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment with both national and international focus. Our research in this area focuses on technical solutions and systems for how resources can be used efficiently and sustainably for the production of fuels, electricity, heat, and biomaterials.
