Fire Safety Engineer
The Fire and Rescue Service is a department under the regional administration in Region Gotland. We currently have 180 employees distributed across ten stations around the island. The island's largest station is located in Visby. Here, full-time firefighters work around the clock. The department's management and administration are also based here. The Fire and Rescue Service's prevention department, with fire safety engineers and fire inspectors, operates from Visby on assignments throughout the island. Hemse, Klintehamn, Burgsvik, Fårösund, Kräklingbo, and Slite have RIB stations. RIB is an abbreviation for rescue personnel on standby and was formerly called part-time firefighters. Our RIB personnel are on standby one week per month and are ready to respond to calls around the clock. Fårö, Dalhem, and Garda have rescue squads. Firefighters at rescue squads do not have standby duty but respond to calls when possible and needed. Your Tasks As a fire safety engineer, you participate in community planning, conduct risk assessments, and work on accident prevention to reduce the risk of fires and other accidents. You also function as an advisor on fire safety and provide support to citizens, businesses, and organizations. The role includes accident investigations, risk management, and supervision in accordance with the Act on Protection Against Accidents (LSO) and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE). Your responsibilities also include coordinating supervision work within the Gotland Fire and Rescue Service. You also work with operational planning and are responsible for exercises and training internally. The role also involves serving in a leadership function in operational activities as an incident commander. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a fire safety engineer degree, who is authorized as a rescue leader according to MCF regulations, and has completed the Incident Commander Leadership Course (LK2) or equivalent. You have knowledge in systematic fire safety work, risk analyses, accident prevention work, fire safety assessments, and safety matters in facilities and properties. You express yourself well in Swedish orally and in writing, and can communicate in English if needed. A B-class driver's license is required. It is advantageous if you have experience in accident prevention work, such as insurance consulting or fire safety consulting. Similarly, if you have the supplementary education in fire and rescue services for fire safety engineers (RUB). Experience in leadership, training, advisory work, or development projects is also valuable. As a person, you are confident, self-driven, and organized. The Infectious Diseases and Pulmonology Unit at Visby Hospital has 21 inpatient beds and an outpatient clinic. The unit's mission encompasses infectious medicine, travel medicine and vaccination, pulmonology, and allergology. Specialists are infectious disease physicians with varying degrees of pulmonology and/or allergology expertise, staffing inpatient care, outpatient services, and on-call duties at the emergency department and in home care. The department offers comprehensive services covering all aspects of infectious diseases, pulmonology including pulmonary oncology, and allergology. Chief Physician, Otolaryngology (ENT)
Visby Hospital has a broad healthcare mission and provides Gotland with acute and planned specialist care. The island location requires the resources of a large hospital while simultaneously offering the proximity and community feel of a smaller one. A wide range of services are represented within both surgical and medical specialties. The ENT department is responsible for ear, nose, and throat care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents and handles around 7,000 visits per year. Operations are conducted in close collaboration with other surgical specialties, the dermatology clinic, and the Oral and Maxillofacial Center. We strive to maintain as much ENT care as possible at Visby Hospital. We have well-established cooperation with Stockholm and regular consulting physicians in tumor surgery, otologic surgery, plastic surgery, audiology, and phoniatrics. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred primarily to Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. The ENT department has six chief physician positions and is currently undergoing a generational transition. Today we are a young team with three chief physicians, two specialist physicians, and two residents, along with several regular locum physicians who provide on-call coverage and bring inspiration and knowledge. The Radiology Department at Visby Hospital is its own operation with approximately 40 dedicated employees: radiologic technologists, nursing assistants, radiologists, and resident physicians.
