As part of Region Gotland, the Social Services Department is responsible for social services, elderly care, and support for people with disabilities across the entire island. Our approximately 1,900 employees work together to create an efficient operation where people are always at the center. Right now, we are looking for more dedicated individuals across Gotland who want to make a difference in care for people with disabilities. We are looking for you if you are positive, driven, and have a genuine interest in people, and you want assignments as a contact person and/or a few fixed hours per month in companion service or respite care. Your tasks As a contact person, your most important task is to provide personal support and pleasant companionship in everyday life. You have the opportunity to set aside a few hours per week to spend time with, support, and be there for another person. The goal is to find things to do outside the home together, based on the service user's interests, needs, and wishes. This could, for example, be having coffee, taking a walk, talking, going into town, or going on an excursion. In companion services, you accompany individuals to activities, help them meet friends, and provide support in social situations. Companion services make it possible to have regular and meaningful activities outside the home. In respite care, you work with children and young people in their homes to support their families. About the contact person assignment Being a contact person is not a regular employment, but an assignment under SOL and LSS. You receive compensation for your efforts as well as expense reimbursement that covers costs, for example for coffee or activities. Compensation is paid out monthly and follows guidelines from Sweden's Municipalities and Regions. About hourly employment as a companion or respite care provider Employment as a companion and/or respite care provider within LSS is on a set number of fixed hours per month. Hourly wages are paid out monthly and follow guidelines from Sweden's Municipalities and Regions. Who are you? You need no previous experience to become a contact person, companion, or respite care provider. If you have education in, for example, child, health and care, or pedagogy, that is a merit. Previous experience working with children or adults with disabilities is also a plus. What is most important is that you are responsible, engaged, confident in yourself, and enjoy creating meaningful moments with others. Your willingness to engage and make a difference is decisive. You must be at least 18 years old and be able to provide an extract from the criminal record register when you are offered an assignment or employment. It is also important that you are comfortable with the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as all communication and documentation takes place in Swedish. What happens after you apply?
