Senior Specialist in Quality and Stakeholder Relations

Do you want to strengthen the credibility of responsible forestry in the future? Forests are one of our most important resources – for the climate, biodiversity, business, and people who live and work in forest landscapes. Do you want to work at the intersection of sustainability, quality, social issues, and dialogue? Then this could be the role for you. Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international membership organization working for environmentally responsible, socially accountable, and economically viable use of the world's forests. FSC operates in over 130 countries and is one of the world's most established certification systems for sustainable forest management. We are now looking for a senior specialist who wants to contribute to strengthening the quality, integrity, and trust in FSC in Sweden. About the role This will be a central role at FSC Sweden's office in Uppsala. You will have an important function in safeguarding the quality and legitimacy of the FSC system and ensuring that the organization continues to be a credible arena where different perspectives meet. In this role, you will work with issues related to quality, system integrity, and continuous improvement. You analyze discrepancies and complaints, drive improvement initiatives, and contribute to developing routines and processes that strengthen operations long-term. Equally important is the relational perspective. You build and develop dialogue with FSC's members, certified companies, certification bodies, authorities, environmental organizations, and other key stakeholders. The work involves navigating complex issues where different interests meet, and where success is often created through collaboration, responsiveness, and trusting relationships. You will also collaborate with FSC's international network and be able to contribute to issues related to integrity, social sustainability, and rights perspectives. Who are we looking for? We are looking for you if you thrive in a role where analysis, quality assurance, and development work are combined with dialogue and relationship building. You have several years of experience in qualified work where you have handled complex issues, ideally in environments where many stakeholders need to be balanced against each other. Perhaps you come from a membership organization, authority, sustainability function, certification activities, or other community-focused work. You have an academic background in, for example, social sciences, environment, sustainability, rights issues, or natural sciences and are accustomed to writing analyses, reports, and decision-making documents. You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English. To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and self-directed, while also being pragmatic, communicative, and responsive with an aptitude for networking and building trust with people with different perspectives. You enjoy taking responsibility, driving issues forward, and translating analysis into concrete improvements. It is advantageous if you have experience with certification systems, quality or audit work, work with indigenous peoples' or rights issues, or international collaborations. Knowledge of FSC is also an advantage. Why choose FSC Sweden With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference on issues that engage society as a whole. You become part of an engaged and knowledgeable office where employees are driven by the desire to contribute to a more responsible future. We are a small organization with significant impact. This means you will have a broad role with significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence matters of national and international significance. We offer a flexible workplace in central Uppsala with the possibility of hybrid work, flexible hours, wellness contributions, and a collective agreement. Interested?
