Postdoctoral Researcher in War Science with Focus on Space Power Theories and Strategy
The position is located at the Air and Space Department at the Department of War Science in Stockholm. The postdoctoral researcher will be part of a sub-project on space power theories and warfare in the space domain, funded by the Swedish Armed Forces, with a focus on developing understanding, ideas, and concepts related to the development of space power theories. The research is part of building a stronger research environment around understanding space as an operational domain from a Swedish perspective and is conducted in close collaboration with sub-projects in the field of defense systems and with the Swedish Armed Forces. Duties The postdoctoral researcher is expected to contribute to the field by planning and conducting research activities and disseminating results at conferences and in scientific publications in collaboration with other researchers in the field. The research project will include in-depth interviews, which sometimes need to be conducted in Swedish. Research will comprise 80% of working time. There is an opportunity to work with teaching and supervision up to 20%. The duties also include participation in other activities within the Swedish Defense University's military program, as well as supporting work on subject development, primarily within the sub-field. Additionally, you will contribute to collaboration and development of contacts with the Swedish Armed Forces, other government agencies, companies, other educational institutions, countries, and organizations relevant to the development of the research field. Qualifications To be employed as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have completed a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree in a subject relevant to the research task.
