Would you like to contribute to high-quality medical research? The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions conducting both research and education. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research. All divisions conduct their activities in close contact with clinics at Karolinska University Hospital. Your Assignment During fall 2026, we will conduct physical testing in a cohort of retired Swedish men and women. The aim is to increase knowledge about sarcopenia, and therefore we will perform advanced examinations of muscles and the nervous system. You will be responsible for examining the number of motor units (Motor Unit Number Estimation, MUNE) using MScanFit, as well as performing high-resolution electromyography (HD-EMG) to measure the electrical activity of muscles. You will also serve as a backup for other tests in the study (Biodex, max VO2, force plate usage). You will also conduct subsequent analyses of the test results. Who Are You? To be eligible for the position, you must have a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology and a master's degree (or be a master's student) in a relevant field of study. We are seeking a candidate with documented experience performing MScanFit and HD-EMG methodology on humans. Previous experience testing physical function with Biodex and force plate as well as maximal oxygen uptake testing is also required. You must also master common statistical analyses, biosignal analysis, and have experience with statistical software such as R or SPSS. About the position The Gynecology Clinic provides highly specialized care and includes the Pelvic Floor Center, a multidisciplinary endometriosis team, abortion clinic, dysplasia services, and clinic for patients with bleeding disorders or those in need of hormonal treatment. We also have the responsibility to provide nationally specialized care (NHV) for patients requiring all vaginal mesh surgery for prolapse, decision-making regarding insertion and removal of vaginal prolapse meshes and incontinence slings. Adjacent to the gynecology clinic is the gynecological emergency clinic, which is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and our gynecological inpatient ward with eleven beds handling both elective and acute patient flows. We receive and care for patients with severe gynecological conditions with or without pregnancy, such as lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, or postoperative infections. We have scheduled surgeries daily and care for patients with acute gynecological conditions, pregnant women, and postpartum women. Your duties as booking nurse include: - Scheduling patients for doctor appointments - Managing waiting lists and referrals - Planning clinic schedules in TakeCare based on TESSA - Providing telephone advice in connection with bookings - Responding to patient inquiries via Alltid Öppet - Performing other administrative tasks as needed This is a full-time temporary position from 2026-09-01 to 2027-08-31, with possibility of extension. Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.
