About the Unit The newly established unit for food and agriculture is part of the department for green industries. The unit is responsible for, among other things, the national research program for food, Nordic cooperation, and EU partnerships in food and agriculture. About the Role As a research secretary at Formas, you work within a range of different areas within the scope of your expertise, with the goal of supporting and strengthening knowledge development. You plan and lead work with research calls and processing of research applications in collaboration with external experts. You also work on developing various strategic agendas and programs, mapping and analyzing knowledge needs in dialogue with a wide range of actors, and participating in various forms of collaboration and knowledge exchange. Part of the work involves various collaborations and initiatives at European level, for example within the framework of Horizon Europe or current Nordic collaborations. The work tasks include representing Formas in collaboration with other authorities, industry organizations, and stakeholders in the field, as well as planning and conducting outreach activities. The work also includes preparing materials and analyses, leading reference groups, and compiling Swedish actors' perspectives, as well as responding to consultations. The unit also has analysts and communicators, and participation in broader analytical assignments at the agency may occur. Who Are You? You have a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with the food sector, both nationally and at the European level. You have experience working from a broad systems perspective, with great interest in navigating a field where there are both synergies and conflicting objectives, in close dialogue and collaboration with a wide range of different stakeholders and actors. The position includes both analytical and more outreach-oriented parts, and it is a strength if you are comfortable with varied work with multiple parallel tracks. Requirements for the Position: Research education relevant to the position (or equivalent qualifications acquired in other ways) Good knowledge and experience in the food sector An excellent communicator in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing Merits for the Position: Work experience from the public sector, business, or civil society within the food sector Experience in analysis and investigation work relevant to food research Collaboration within international R&D work, for example within the EU's research framework We place great emphasis on personal suitability Working at Formas Formas is a state agency with approximately 110 employees. This means we finance research and innovation related to climate, circular economy, food, forestry and agriculture, sea and water, and urban planning.
