The Property Department is part of the administration at Stockholm University and has overall responsibility for the university's facilities and housing as well as associated services. The department has approximately 80 employees working on matters including facility and housing provision, security, physical work environment, and services such as facility management, mail and goods handling, conference coordination, central exam services, and service center.
The department is organized into two sections and four groups reporting directly to the Property Director. The Office is one of these groups, with the task of supporting the department's work in accounting, follow-up, personnel matters, and communication.
The Office is now seeking a temporary Accounting Administrator with strong knowledge of accounting. Work Tasks
As an Accounting Administrator at the Property Department, you have a central role in ensuring that the department's accounting processes are handled correctly and within given timeframes. You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues across all the department's assignments.
The assignment is stimulating and characterized by a wide range of accounting tasks. Your main work tasks include:
Ongoing invoice handling and accounting matters.
Internal billing and invoicing.
Compilations, analyses, and accruals in connection with financial statements.
Budget, forecasts, and quarterly follow-up in close dialogue with controllers.
Preparing materials, compilations, and simple analyses.
Ensuring that accounting is conducted according to applicable regulations and internal procedures.
Providing support and service to operations in accounting matters.
Development of processes and procedures related to accounting flows and systems, with the aim of increasing efficiency and ensuring high quality.
We also welcome your contributions to developing and streamlining our accounting processes and working methods.
Other accounting-related tasks within the department may also occur. You report to the Office Manager and work closely with controllers, other accountants, managers, and several other functions within the department. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop your knowledge in accounting and financial administration in a complex and socially important operation.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role of Accounting Administrator, we see that you have:
An academic degree in economics, or alternatively other post-secondary education in economics that the employer deems equivalent.
Some experience in accounting administration work, for example in accounting, invoice handling, or financial follow-up, or alternatively experience deemed equivalent.
Experience in service and very good collaboration skills.
A strong interest in accounting and willingness to familiarize yourself with the operations.
Good ability and interest in quickly learning new systems.
Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to use the program for compilations, follow-up, and reporting.
Very good ability to communicate and build trustworthy relationships.
Very good ability to express yourself professionally in both speech and writing in Swedish and English.
We welcome both those at the beginning of your career and those with a few years of experience in accounting work.
Meritorious
Experience in accounting within a government agency or other public sector operations is meritorious.

About the Employment
The position is full-time and is a temporary placement through June 2027. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
