Nurse at the Hemodialysis Unit, USÖ

The Hemodialysis Unit is a highly specialized outpatient care facility where we provide comprehensive care. We treat both chronic and acutely ill patients and have 20 treatment stations. Associated with the unit is also a self-dialysis unit with four stations. Our goal is to make care for our kidney patients even better. Every day. In everything we do. In every interaction. Job Responsibilities As a nurse with us, you will primarily perform dialysis treatments, and of course basic and specialized patient care also occurs. We work with high-tech equipment and serve the entire hospital where acute dialysis treatments are needed. Currently, each nurse has treatment responsibility for approximately three patients per shift. Since we are open during day and evening hours as well as weekends (daytime only), your working hours will vary. You will get to use and develop your nursing knowledge and be part of many varying care situations. About the Organization The Medical Operations Area is one of the university hospital's largest and is organizationally divided into five sections: endocrinology and diabetes, gastroenterology, hematology, nephrology, and general internal medicine. Patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, blood diseases, kidney diseases, and patients requiring acute internal medical care are treated here, often elderly and multimorbid patients. Each section has an outpatient clinic. There are also three inpatient wards here. University Hospital Örebro (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we conduct advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award from the newspaper Dagens Medicin for Best University Hospital. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, achieved the best results in the accessibility category, economy, and the category for preventing pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops results in the areas of cardiology, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has approximately 3,500 employees.
