We are united in our mission to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's conditions. Job Responsibilities: The doctoral education program comprises 240 credits (equivalent to four years of full-time studies). It formally concludes with the doctoral student publicly defending their printed doctoral dissertation. The doctoral student is expected to actively participate in the department's research and teaching environment, particularly within the Human Ecology Division, and may be required to perform institutional duties, mainly teaching, comprising approximately 20 percent of full-time work. The doctoral position is linked to the project "Swedish Electricity," a multidisciplinary collaboration between universities in Lund, Gothenburg, and the University of Borås. The project aims to critically examine and understand how nationalism influences the development of energy systems and how nationalist narratives around electricity relate to issues of exploitation, justice, and preparedness. (see https://portal.research.lu.se/sv/projects/den-svenska-elen-kunskap-och-kommunikation-mellan-beredskap-natio/) As a doctoral student, you will conduct independent research within the project framework in a multidisciplinary research team. Employment of doctoral students is regulated in the Swedish Legislation Collection 1998:80. Only those who are or have been admitted to doctoral education may be employed as doctoral students. When filling such a position, the student's ability to benefit from doctoral education shall be the primary consideration. In addition to pursuing studies, those appointed to doctoral positions may be required to work with teaching duties, research, and administration, according to special provisions in the ordinance. Evaluation Criteria: The most important evaluation criterion is the ability and potential to conduct qualified research in an area relevant to the position. Based on submitted documents, a comprehensive assessment will be made of the applicant's qualifications. Assets for the position include: 1) experience with environmental and energy history studies, including archival research; 2) experience working with critical multidisciplinary perspectives. Do you want to work on developing advanced electronics solutions at a consulting firm where you can follow products from idea to finished solution? Here you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of customers, technologies, and industries – while the majority of projects are completed in-house alongside knowledgeable colleagues. ABOUT THE ROLE: As an Electronics Developer, you will work on embedded systems development, electronics design, and product development in close collaboration with customers and colleagues. Projects often encompass the entire development chain – from concept and prototypes to industrialization and volume production. For example, you might work with circuit boards that combine USB, Bluetooth, 5G, sensors, and power electronics, where each project brings new technical challenges and new products to learn about. This gives you the opportunity to work closely with colleagues, share knowledge, and be part of a strong technical environment. Some assignments take place at the customer's site, for both shorter and longer periods, but the goal is always to find arrangements that work for both employees and projects. This role suits you if you appreciate freedom with responsibility and thrive in an environment where you drive your own work forward. There are no detailed process controls here – instead, you're expected to take ownership of your projects, collaborate with colleagues, and be curious about learning new things. For the right person, there are great opportunities to develop both technically and professionally. WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH: At least three years of experience in electronics development Relevant engineering education, preferably a master's degree in electronics, computer engineering, or similar Experience with circuit design and PCB layout Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written It's not necessary, but it's a merit if you have experience/knowledge of: MCU and MPU Radio and communication solutions Sensors Power electronics and high voltage Rapid prototyping Volume production and industrialization Beyond technical competence, personal qualities are highly valued. They're looking for someone who is flexible, solution-oriented, and sees opportunities in new challenges. Assistant Professor in Control Systems with Focus on Cyber-Physical Systems

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked among the world's leading universities. It has around 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our endeavor to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's conditions. The Department of Automatic Control at LTH, Lund University, is recruiting an assistant professor. We are seeking candidates for a position as assistant professor in control systems with a focus on cyber-physical systems. Control systems, cyber-physical systems, and embedded real-time systems are central to the analysis, design, and operation of modern technical systems. These areas combine fundamental theory with methods for implementation, integration, and validation of control and decision algorithms in real-world environments. They play a key role in technology areas where computational and physical processes interact closely, including autonomous vehicles, robotics, industrial automation, smart infrastructure, and interconnected sensor and actuator systems. As society and technology evolve toward increasingly autonomous, distributed, and software-intensive systems, the need for reliable, resource-efficient, secure, and scalable solutions becomes ever more important, both in research and education. At the Department of Automatic Control at LTH, research and teaching are conducted in an international environment with around 60 employees, including doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members with broad subject expertise. The department has a strong tradition in systems and control theory, including cyber-physical systems, embedded and network-based control systems, robotics, and intelligent autonomous systems. The work environment is characterized by an open and ambitious atmosphere, with collaborations both within academia and with industrial partners, nationally and internationally. Lund University and the Department of Automatic Control welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We view equality and diversity as strengths and assets. The department currently has three female professors, including a Lise Meitner professor, as well as one female assistant professor. Of our 15 faculty members, five have international backgrounds. Diversity, equality, and inclusion are important to us. We are now seeking an outstanding early-career researcher for a position as assistant professor in control systems with a focus on cyber-physical systems. We particularly welcome candidates whose research combines control systems with areas such as embedded and real-time-critical systems, distributed and network-based systems, robotics and mechatronics, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and edge-based computing infrastructures, or implementation of control systems in industrially relevant applications. The research may, for example, concern implementation of control systems in resource-constrained environments, real-time and embedded control architectures, network-based and distributed control, sensor and actuator systems, or software and hardware integration for autonomous and cyber-physical systems. The position involves conducting research of high international quality, developing an independent research profile, contributing to the acquisition of external research funding, and teaching and supervising students at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels in control systems and computer science, including cyber-physical systems, embedded and real-time-critical systems, and related areas. A central part of the position is to contribute to teaching that combines theory and practice through the development of an experimentally oriented learning environment.
