The Service Office provides technical and administrative services to administrations and companies in Borås City. Our operations include everything from facility and workshop services to data services, building and property services, payroll and accounting services, as well as telephone service and switchboard operations. The Service Office operates without municipal budget allocation, but works in a business-like manner according to a model with clients and service providers. Approximately 400 people work at the Service Office. About the operation Borås City's IT Department, Data Services, is responsible for the operations of the entire Borås City network. The network currently consists of approximately 7,000 computers and 7,000 smartphones serving approximately 30,000 users. We are 50+ employees in the department, distributed across four units. We work process-oriented using the ITIL framework. Are you our new Service Desk team member? Job responsibilities You will work in a great and competent Service Desk team. Your work includes daily contact with users, and you report to the IT Support Manager at Data Services. The position broadly involves answering incoming calls to the Service Desk, receiving error reports and orders from users via phone and email, all of which must be registered in our ticket management system. A high percentage of issues are resolved directly during the first call through troubleshooting, often by remote connecting to the user. Solutions are documented for the user and for our own knowledge database, so we place great value on documentation. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a high school education with IT technical focus (or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways as deemed equivalent by the employer). Higher education in the field is a merit. You have worked in the past two years or currently work with user support and similar tasks as described above and have documented experience with Service Desk work in the areas of Windows clients and Microsoft AD administration, or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have worked with Windows 10 and 11 and SCCM. You hold ITIL certification (or equivalent knowledge acquired practically through work in these processes). A Class B driver's license is required. The adult unit's work encompasses harmful substance use and addiction, social contracts, and intimate partner violence. As a social worker, you work within all of the unit's responsibility areas, with a special focus on intimate partner violence where you investigate, assess, and follow up on needs for support and protection. You are independently responsible for your cases and work through the entire process – from investigation and assessment to decision, planning, and follow-up of services. The work involves both long-term change work and situations that require quick and professional assessments. You have close contact with the individual and collaborate with other actors, both within social services and with external partners. We work based on a Motivational Interviewing-inspired approach where we see the individual's resources and possibilities, while being clear about rights, obligations, and the requirements that follow from granted services.
