In meal area 2 on Huskvarnaberget, there are 4 primary schools and 8 preschools. Here, approximately 1,530 portions are prepared from scratch daily for our diners. The dining halls are characterized by a warm and welcoming environment where we always strive for children's well-being. In our kitchens, we prepare nutritious and delicious meals with a focus on quality and sustainability. We actively work with meal pedagogy and food waste reduction, which means that as head chef, you are an important part of children's learning about food, health, and good habits. Your New Job The meal organization is now seeking a self-motivated and committed head chef for the meal area who wants to help provide our children with nutritious and delicious food so they have the energy for their day. Your primary placement will be in the kitchen at Lekeryd School. As head chef, you will prepare and cook nutritious meals according to established menus and serve food to children and staff with a smile. You will collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve and develop the kitchen's operations. In your new role, you will help ensure that the kitchen's routines are followed and maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety. You will also help influence young people's eating habits and health for lifelong well-being. Examples of work tasks: Serve good and well-prepared food to the kitchen's young guests. Prepare meals from scratch according to current guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Create meals that are healthy, environmentally sustainable, and delicious for children and young people. Plan menus and order necessary supplies. Be a good ambassador for the kitchen where you involve students in meals. Integrate meals into both children's and students' learning and development. Have the opportunity to influence young people's eating habits and health for a healthy life. Work independently to prepare food for preschool. Other tasks that may occur in a kitchen. The food should be both delicious and nutritious, with a focus on quality and sustainability. We value that you have experience preparing meals from scratch and adapting meals to children's specific needs. As a person, you are a committed team player who enjoys working together with both educators and kitchen staff to create a safe and inspiring meal environment for children. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and work enthusiasm and contribute to a positive and collaborative work climate. We also seek someone who finds it easy to follow given guidelines and procedures while having the drive to participate in developing the operation. Required Competencies: Chef education/training. Meritorious: experience from large-scale kitchens or restaurants. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Basic IT skills.
