Social Secretary for Adult Authority
Do you want a job where you make a difference for people every day while developing together with knowledgeable and committed colleagues? Then this might be the position for you. Who are we? At the Social Services Office in Norrköping Municipality, we work to provide high-quality support to people who need society's help. The Adult Authority is responsible for the exercise of authority directed toward adults who are in various forms of social vulnerability. This can involve substance abuse and addiction, mental health issues, domestic violence, honor-related violence, and other complex life situations where the need for support and coordinated interventions is significant. We meet people in difficult situations and work every day to provide the right support, create change, and contribute to improved quality of life. The unit consists of approximately 25 social secretaries working in teams. We value close and unpretentious collaboration where we help each other, share experiences, and take collective responsibility for our operations. With us, no one should have to stand alone with difficult cases; instead, we see the strength in using the team's collective expertise. As an employee, you have the support of both the senior social secretary and the unit manager. Leadership is characterized by presence, trust, and dialogue, where you have good conditions to succeed in your assignment while having the opportunity to develop and influence our operations. We are now seeking new employees, both for permanent positions and a parental leave replacement for at least one year, who want to contribute to the continued development of our operations. Your work tasks As a social secretary within the Adult Authority, you are responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Care of Substance Abusers in Certain Cases (LVM). The assignment also includes following up on interventions and ensuring that the support achieves the desired effect for the individual. You meet people with varying and often complex issues. A central part of the work is to motivate change and, together with the individual, identify resources, opportunities, and ways forward. Although the focus is on the adult individual, the work often takes place in close cooperation with other activities within social services as well as with external partners. Collaboration is an important part of the assignment. Through close cooperation with both internal and external stakeholders, you contribute to legally secure assessments, good quality, and cohesive support for the individual. To give you a good start with us, we offer a thoughtful introduction that is adapted based on your previous experience and needs. Who are you? We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education that includes at least 7.5 higher education credits in social law. You have experience as a case handler within social services authority operations and have worked with areas such as substance abuse, addiction, psychiatry, comorbidity, or other related activities. You have good knowledge of relevant legislation, especially SoL and coercive legislation. To succeed in this role, you need to be someone who thrives in an operation where the pace is sometimes high and where conditions can change quickly. You have the ability to remain calm, make well-founded decisions, and prioritize work tasks based on what is most important and urgent. We are looking for someone who has drive and persistence in your work and is motivated by working long-term to achieve results, even when the process is complex or takes time. You are responsible and independent in your assessments, but at the same time see collaboration as a natural success factor. With us, it is important to contribute to the team's collective work, share knowledge, ask for support when needed, and be there for colleagues yourself. We value a culture where we help each other and where the team's collective expertise strengthens both the work environment and the quality of our work. As a person, you are professional, structured, and solution-oriented. You have good judgment, feel secure in your professional role, and can handle difficult conversations and complex situations with respect, clarity, and integrity.
