Job Responsibilities As Communications Director, you are responsible for developing and implementing the municipality's communications strategy. You ensure that communications support operational goals and are conducted professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with the municipality's values. You drive the development of both internal and external communications and are responsible for the municipality's brand strategy and visual identity. The role also involves providing strategic support to municipal management and elected officials, as well as creating the conditions for clear, accessible, and trust-building communications. You also have operational responsibility for ensuring high quality in the municipality's communications efforts. You lead the development of the municipality's digital channels and social media, and ensure that the municipality's communications comply with the principle of public access, data protection legislation, and applicable accessibility requirements. The assignment includes responsibility for crisis communications and media management. The Communications Department is part of the municipal management office, where you join the management group and report to the Municipal Director. As a manager, you are responsible for the communications department's operations, budget, and personnel. You lead, coach, and develop 18 employees with various competencies and areas of responsibility. Qualifications We are looking for someone with an academic degree in communications, journalism, media and communications science, political science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience in qualified communications work and documented experience of working strategically with communications issues. Furthermore, you have experience from previous management and leadership roles with personnel responsibility, as well as experience in crisis communications and change and development work. You have a good understanding of how communications can contribute to operational development and have experience from municipal operations or other politically governed organization. We see that you have experience working in a management group and preferably have worked close to political leadership. Experience with employer branding and internal communications is considered a merit. Who Are You?
