Your Workplace Department 9 is a geriatric internal medicine ward specializing in elderly patients. Diseases treated here include COPD, heart failure, diabetes, and infections. Many patients have a combination of multiple diseases, which we are particularly skilled at managing. We work person-centered with care that takes into account the complex care needs that arise from multimorbidity and natural aging. Patients come to us through the emergency department, other care units, or as direct admissions via mobile teams. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) - Psychological Defence Unit (MPF) protects the open and democratic society and freedom of opinion by identifying, analyzing, and countering improper information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests. The Agency was established on January 1, 2022, and has offices in Solna and Karlstad. There are five departments: the Director General's Staff, the Operations Department, the Capability Development Department, the Administrative Department, and the Communications Department. In the Capability Development Department, we work to develop and strengthen society's collective capacity for psychological defence. This includes providing support to the public, authorities, regions, municipalities, media, voluntary defense organizations, and civil society in general, as well as promoting increased coordination between these actors. We are looking for dedicated nursing assistants and care aides who want to help create security, community, and quality of life for people with dementia and other varying care and support needs. We are looking for both those seeking permanent employment and those interested in temporary positions. About the Workplace Our care facilities are located in central Karlstad as well as in Skattkärr, Väse, Molkom, and Vålberg. Our care facilities offer elderly people secure housing when support and care needs can no longer be met in their own homes. The facilities consist of apartments with access to common areas where residents can socialize and share meals together. The goal is to create a safe, homely, and meaningful daily life where the individual's needs and wishes are at the center. Work is conducted according to a schedule during day and evening shifts with duty every other weekend, or night shifts with duty every other weekend. Split shifts occur. Job Duties Our care facilities have both dementia and somatic units, which means you will meet people with varying needs for support, care, and health and medical services. The residents include people with dementia, somatic illnesses, mental health issues, and/or comorbidities, which requires professional interaction and a person-centered approach. As a team member, you are an important part of the resident's daily life and work based on the individual's needs, wishes, and circumstances. Together with the resident, you plan and implement measures that strengthen independence, participation, and well-being. Your work tasks include personal care, assistance with activities, meals, and creating opportunities for social interaction and meaningful activities. The role includes active work with contact person assignments, implementation plans, and social documentation. We work with quality registries BPSD and Senior Alert and document in the Treserva system.
