A successful test begins long before anything is tested on the test range. The setup must be well thought out, risks assessed, resources coordinated, and everyone involved needs to know what will happen. But even with careful preparations, it's impossible to plan for every situation that may arise. That's when the test director becomes especially important. In the forests outside Karlskoga lies Bofors Test Center, an internationally established player in testing military and civilian products. Here, tests of advanced weapons systems are conducted under controlled conditions, with shooting technicians, measurement technicians, photographers, and other specialist functions working together on the test ranges. Collaboration is a major part of daily life. Different specialist skills work closely together here, and although the assignments come with great responsibility, daily work is characterized by a lot of humor, lack of pretense, and a natural willingness to help each other.
