Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten has approximately 520 employees within laboratory specialties including clinical pathology, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and clinical genetics. Biobank, infection control, and tissue banking are also part of the operation. We are a regional organization with operations in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. Since 1998, the operation has been accredited according to ISO 15189. Clinical Chemistry is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå and at regional hospitals in Lycksele and Skellefteå.
