The Social Services Department in Haparanda is embarking on an exciting development journey. We are now seeking an engaged, confident, and strategic Assistant Director of Social Services who wants to help develop welfare and create the best possible conditions for our residents, employees, and managers. As Assistant Director of Social Services, you will have a central role in the department's leadership and development. You will work closely with the Director of Social Services, be an important collaborator with the operations managers, and contribute to translating political goals into practical operational development. The Social Services Department comprises more than 400 employees and is responsible for activities within elderly care, child and family services, support for people with disabilities, and health and medical care. Your assignment The role does not include direct personnel responsibility with subordinate managers or employees. The formal management and employer responsibility rests with the Director of Social Services, with the exception of situations where you act as the Director's substitute. You will be part of the Social Services Department's management group and work closely with the Director of Social Services, operations managers, and support functions such as the medical responsible nurse and quality developer. You also have an important role in contributing to a well-functioning interaction between the administration and political bodies. This means supporting the Director of Social Services in preparing, implementing, and following up on political decisions, as well as translating the Social Board's goals and priorities into clear leadership, governance, and development in the operations. In this role, you will, among other things: support the Director of Social Services in leadership, governance, and follow-up of the department's operations coordinate and drive development and change initiatives support and coach managers in leadership, employer matters, and operational development participate in budget work, financial follow-up, and operational planning contribute to strengthening quality, legal certainty, and efficiency in the operations contribute to preparing, implementing, and following up on political decisions and create clear links between the Board's goals and operational development represent the Social Services Department in internal and external contexts serve as the Director of Social Services' substitute when needed, including taking on formal management and employer responsibility when the assignment requires it Your competence and experience We are seeking someone with relevant academic education for this assignment. You have good knowledge of the social services' mandate, legislation, and conditions, as well as experience in leadership, governance, and development work in a politically controlled organization. It is meritorious if you have management experience within social services, elderly care, support for people with disabilities, child and family services, or other municipal operations. We would like to see that you have experience in change management, quality development, financial follow-up, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. As a person, you are confident, clear, and stable in your leadership. You have the ability to create structure, build trust, and drive matters forward with both a holistic perspective and attentiveness. About the Position You will work at our short-term residential facility that offers 24-hour assessments, respite care, and relief for families. In your role as a nursing assistant, you will help create security, participation, and independence for our guests. The work is varied and includes both care services and rehabilitation work. Your Tasks Perform care and support services based on the individual's needs. Work with an everyday rehabilitation approach to strengthen the individual's independence. Participate in assessments of activity capacity and need for continued support. Perform delegated health and medical care services according to the nurse's instructions. Document according to applicable guidelines. Collaborate with other professionals to create good and cohesive care and support. Provide support and relief to family members. Who Are We Looking For?
