Would you like to brighten the everyday lives and improve the quality of life for Linköping residents? With us, you can make an important difference and contribute to making Linköping a better place. Welcome to join us! Your responsibilities As a school nurse, you work primarily with health promotion and prevention, bringing both medical and nursing expertise to support the pedagogical work and planning of student health services. During health visits, you identify early symptoms or needs for support and work closely with students, parents, and school staff to strengthen students' knowledge of healthy lifestyles and factors that affect health and well-being. The role also involves providing guidance and consultation to staff, monitoring vaccination coverage and administering supplementary vaccinations, and contributing medical knowledge to various activities in the organization. The work includes responsibility for record-keeping and medical documentation in the Prorenata system. In contact with students and parents, you provide counseling and support on matters related to health, lifestyle, puberty, sleep, stress, and mental well-being. You initiate and participate in health promotion initiatives that strengthen students' sense of security, health, and school attendance, and contribute medical expertise to the school's two student health teams, team F-6 and team 7-9. With your medical expertise, you contribute to the interdisciplinary work of the student health teams by participating in meetings, helping develop action plans, and collaborating on work with students. The role involves working at both individual and group levels, which may mean supporting individual students and participating in the school's work on well-being, security, and creating good learning environments to help students reach the goals of primary education. You will collaborate with other school staff, parents, and other organizations and authorities outside the school. Your workplace School health services in Linköping Municipality are part of Central Student Health, the Medical Service of Student Health. In primary school, about 40 school nurses work with approximately 16,000 students. In upper secondary school, 8 school nurses work with approximately 5,000 students distributed across five different upper secondary units. As a new school nurse in the municipality, you will participate in an introduction program and are offered continuous competence and method development through the central medical student health service. You are part of a network with other school nurses in the area, which provides good opportunities to exchange experiences and develop your profession. You will also receive guidance once a month from a psychologist, which strengthens interdisciplinary work and contributes to a school environment that promotes health, learning, and well-being. Organizationally, you belong to the primary school or upper secondary unit where you have the most hours of service, and in this position your supervisor is one of the rectors at Ånestad School. We are now seeking a school nurse to be placed at Ånestad School F–6 and Ånestad School 7–9. The school has approximately 600 students, with just over half attending lower and middle school and the remaining students at upper secondary level. Together, we are around 100 employees at the school, and each school unit has its own rector and assistant rector. Ånestad School works to develop close and continuous collaboration between the school's units. Previously, the school's units each had their own school nurse, but we now see great opportunities in working together and creating a more cohesive and development-focused student health service. Through close collaboration between the units, we can strengthen continuity, quality, and equality in student health work and contribute to students having better conditions to reach the goals of their education. This is a permanent position at 100%. We offer independent and developmental work where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for students' health and schooling. About you We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist education as a district nurse, children's nurse, or school nurse. We would appreciate it if you have experience working as a school nurse or other background in health promotion work with children and young people. You have good knowledge of preventive and health-promoting student health work and have strong command of Swedish in both speech and writing, as the role involves record-keeping and collaboration with several different professions. As a school nurse with us, you have an independent role where you plan and organize your work in a structured and professional manner. You meet children and young people with attentiveness and respect and have a clear intercultural awareness that allows you to see and value differences in your interactions with students and parents. You are comfortable working in an operation where conditions can change quickly and have the ability to adapt and think in new ways to help develop student health work. In your role as a school nurse, you collaborate with school staff, professionals from the student health teams, school doctors, and others. This requires that you thrive in an environment where collaborative teamwork is central. If you want to help drive and develop our operations forward, we warmly welcome your application.
