Department 8 is a medical department with 28 care beds – specialized in IMA / specialist medicine. Three years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern care unit buildings. The work has changed as each patient is now cared for in a private room and the department is equipped with the latest technology in the field. Department 8 will have 3 positions with an IMA focus. These intermediate care beds serve patients who need care and treatment requiring special monitoring and training, but not intensive care. These positions have higher staffing ratios of nursing assistants, nurses, and physicians. Duties and Work Methods On Department 8, each nurse will be responsible for a maximum of 7 patients, of which 3 beds are IMA-focused positions, and the work is led by two unit managers in joint leadership. We work in teams and with person-centered care in cooperation with nursing assistants, nurses, paramedics, and physicians to best utilize everyone's expertise.
