Job Duties Sahlgrenska Academy runs a trainee program for medical students. The purpose is to increase research interest among students in the medical program and increase recruitment of these students to doctoral education. The trainee's work duties include work within a research project at an institution, teaching duties, and participation in courses and seminars within the framework of the trainee program. Depending on the research project's focus, the employment as a trainee will organizationally be placed at the Department of Biomedicine, the Department of Clinical Sciences, the Department of Medicine, or the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. The number of positions at each institution is determined based on decided research projects. Eligibility Eligible for employment as a trainee is someone who is admitted to education at basic or advanced level. The total employment period for a trainee may comprise a maximum of three years. The position is intended for you who is not already a doctoral graduate or admitted to doctoral education. For employment as a trainee, the applicant must be admitted to the medical program at the University of Gothenburg and be pursuing studies in one of terms 1–8 at the time of application. Assessment Criteria Previous research experience and teaching experience. Experience in positions of trust and previous applications to the trainee program are also meritorious, as well as good study results in the medical program. Applicants are assessed and graded by an independent assessment committee consisting of researchers from each of the four relevant departments at Sahlgrenska Academy (Biomedicine, Medicine, Clinical Sciences, Neuroscience and Physiology). Employment The employment is a fixed-term position at 25% of full-time for up to one year with placement at the Department of Biomedicine, the Department of Clinical Sciences, the Department of Medicine, or the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. Start date for employment is January 1, 2027. The majority of working time will be scheduled during summer (June–August).
