The staff's task is to lead, develop, and coordinate work for sustainable regional development in Västra Götaland. This encompasses three of VGR's four public assignments: conducting regional development, managing regional public transportation, and promoting access to culture. We are now looking for an economist who wants to help create conditions for sustainable development in Västra Götaland together with us at the Corporate Staff for Regional Development. Your Assignment We are strengthening our finance team within the Corporate Staff for Regional Development due to a planned retirement. The finance team currently consists of a finance manager and four employees. Together with the departments within the Corporate Staff for Regional Development, the finance team provides administrative support to politicians in the Environment and Regional Development Committee, the Public Transport and Infrastructure Committee, and the Regional Board's Sustainability Committee and the Human Rights Preparatory Board. The team's work tasks include: assembling, analyzing, and monitoring economic developments for political committees and departments within regional development, infrastructure, and public transportation actively contributing to the staff's joint business development and continuous improvement work responsibility for the staff's system support for digital applications operationally focused support for managers within the staff What Can We Offer You? To succeed in the role, you need: We are looking for someone with post-secondary education focused on economics or other education that, combined with experience, is deemed equivalent. We would like you to have experience from politically governed operations and an understanding of overarching leadership and governance. It is a merit if you have worked in organizations with public assignments. As a person, you are driven and accustomed to independently taking responsibility for your assignments. You have an analytical and strategic approach, strong competence in system support, and a genuine interest in digital development. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to developing and streamlining our digital work methods. Timely delivery is important to you. You have the ability to build new contacts and collaborate both with close colleagues and external parties. You see it as obvious to share your knowledge and experience while also considering others' perspectives. You are comfortable leading groups and giving presentations in various contexts. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing, have good computer skills, and are well-versed in the Office package and common web tools.
