Nurse at Psychiatric Eating Disorder Clinic

Helping people achieve better health is one of the most important missions you can have. At Södra Älvsborgs Hospital (SÄS), we are 3700 employees across 120 different professions working together to make a difference every day. With us you will find security, career opportunities, forward-thinking values, and a strong sense of community. About this position Do you want to make a difference for our young patients with eating disorders? We are now expanding our treatment offerings for patients under 18 years of age who need eating disorder care. We have received funding to build up family day care starting in fall 2026. Would you like to be part of building up the family day care program together with the rest of our pediatric team? If yes, or if you'd like to learn more, apply for this position. As a nurse at the Psychiatric Eating Disorder Clinic, you will be part of our pediatric team. The clinic is age-inclusive; we treat people with eating disorders regardless of age. Staff are divided into a pediatric team and an adult team, but we collaborate and support each other across the entire clinic. Currently, the pediatric team includes one nurse, one childcare worker, two social workers, one psychologist, and one physician. The existing pediatric team will be expanded with two positions: this nursing role and an additional social worker position. We also have access to a dietitian who works in the adult team as well. Your main focus will be patients under 18 years of age who need day care treatment for eating disorder issues. The day care program is intended to be a bridge between outpatient care and inpatient care, for when outpatient treatment alone is not sufficient and patients need extended support without overnight hospitalization. We work in therapeutic interventions based on the FBT treatment method in individual therapy and in family day care. It is independent work with the team as your support. As a nurse with us, you will also conduct somatic assessments and medical follow-ups. You may be responsible for telephone counseling and conducting assessments for new patients. You will serve as a primary contact for a portion of the clinic's patients, maintaining individual therapeutic relationships. Part of the work also involves collaborating with other agencies such as municipalities, the social insurance agency, and the employment service. We offer opportunities for professional development aligned with our mission, as well as supervision to ensure long-term sustainability in your work life. About us The psychiatry department at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital includes several outpatient clinics, acute care units, and inpatient services. The Psychiatric Eating Disorder Clinic is an outpatient clinic located in Borås whose primary mission is to serve patients, both adults and children, with eating disorder issues. The clinic has approximately eighteen staff members. Work is characterized by collaboration in a multidisciplinary team including dietitians, physiotherapists, physicians, secretaries, nurses, care workers, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, and a unit manager. The team demonstrates consistently high competence, with many members holding specialist certifications and extensive experience. The group is characterized by collegial support, commitment to our work, ambition to develop and grow, and a good sense of humor. Your profile We are looking for you if you are a licensed psychiatric nurse or a licensed nurse with experience in psychiatric inpatient or outpatient care. We also see great value if you have training in CBT and/or other foundational psychotherapy training. It is also an asset if you have further education in eating disorder care and competence in FBT. We are actively working to digitalize more of our processes. To be part of this digital transformation, you bring basic digital skills and can use digital tools and services. You can search for information, communicate, interact digitally, are risk-aware, and have the motivation to participate in development and learn new things. This is the right role for you if you have personal maturity, feel confident in your professional role, and enjoy working in a team. Therefore, we place great importance on personal fit and that you are genuinely interested in people and the profession. Other information We prioritize everyone's safety and request criminal background clearance from those offered employment with us. We welcome your application! Before employment, you will be required to provide an extract from the criminal record register in accordance with the law on background checks for senior positions in municipalities. Tests will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. Interviews are scheduled for September 8 and 9 in the morning. If you advance in the process, we would appreciate if you have availability on one of these days. The Health and Elderly Care Administration works for residents in need of care and support as well as preventive health work for the elderly. The administration consists of just over 2,600 employees, of which 90 are managers. Together we perform meaningful work with a focus on the 5,000 users/patients we serve through equitable and equal care and support. About the Operation Are you an engaged leader with experience in both preventive public health work and public authority administration? Then you could be our new Unit Manager for the Preventive Services Authority. As a manager within the Preventive Services Authority, you will be a key person in developing the future social services within care and elderly services. The Authority currently consists of 85 employees distributed across five units: public authority/case handling, fee administration, HSV-team authority/care planning team, housing adaptation, and residential planning. Against the backdrop of demographic changes, the transition to new social services legislation, and proximity-based care, the operation is now being expanded with a sixth unit - Preventive Services Authority. This unit will develop new preventive working methods and launch a reception team within the Authority's operations. Our offices are centrally located at Ramnåsgatan 1 near Borås Travel Center with beautiful Ramna Park nearby, where many lunch walks are taken. There is a café in the building where employees can purchase sandwiches, simple meals, coffee breaks and more, so if you forget your packed lunch, it's no problem. Job Responsibilities As Unit Manager for the Preventive Services Authority, you are responsible for approximately 25 employees. The unit consists of both employees who work with outreach preventive work as an intervention without needs assessment, and social workers who are part of the reception team that will start in early 2027. As Unit Manager, you lead, develop, and follow up on the unit's operations based on the operational plan, established goals, and political direction. You have responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and budget. Since the position is new and under development, not all components will be in place when you assume office. You therefore have an important role in developing the operation and shaping new working methods with a focus on preventive work and early interventions, where accessibility, collaboration, and knowledge-based working methods are central elements. Furthermore, you will also lead public authority administration as a reception team handling new cases will start up. In your role, you will collaborate both internally within the administration and with other municipal operations, civil society, and external actors, primarily within the region's operations such as primary care and Södra Älvsborg Hospital. To promote a stimulating and good work environment for your employees, you work based on Borås City's personnel policy program and conduct systematic work environment efforts. You should also have good collaboration with union representatives. In order to strengthen employee participation and influence, you should enjoy developing and supporting employees in self-organized teams. You have four manager colleagues with whom you have close cooperation, and together with the Operations Manager, you form the authority's management team. Qualifications We are seeking someone with higher education with relevant focus, such as a social work degree or bachelor's degree that the employer deems equivalent, for example in social care or public health. We would appreciate it if you have several years of experience as a manager and feel confident in leadership. Since the assignment also includes leading public authority administration, you need experience in public authority administration within social services. You are a clear relationship-building leader who inspires, has a holistic perspective, and is driven by developing operations through refining working methods, routines, and processes, and communicating goals and assignments. As a leader, you need to be able to provide support when needed but also encourage participation and responsibility-taking among employees. It is important that you have good collaboration skills as you will be central to many issues both internally and externally. You have good communication skills and express yourself easily in speech and writing, and enjoy a changing work environment where you prioritize and lead based on the operation's collective needs. You need to be analytical, able to structure, and it is meritorious if you have experience in change management as you will lead the transition toward future social services. Before employment, you will be required to provide an extract from the criminal record register in accordance with the law on background checks for senior positions in municipalities. Other Information As a manager in Borås City, you are offered a solid manager development program in the form of ongoing training and leadership development. The position includes accrued overtime compensation but you also have a favorable flexible work agreement to balance work and private life well. In addition to meaningful work tasks, good working conditions, and professional colleagues, as an employee in Borås City you also receive benefits such as wellness contributions, free access to our swimming facilities and outdoor recreation areas, a bicycle benefit, discounted prices on Västtrafik annual passes, and numerous activities organized by the personnel association MerKraft.
