We are now expanding our treatment offerings for patients under 18 years of age who need eating disorder care. We have received funding to build up family day care starting in fall 2026. As a nurse at the Psychiatric Eating Disorder Clinic, you will be part of our pediatric team. The clinic is age-inclusive; we treat people with eating disorders regardless of age. Staff are divided into a pediatric team and an adult team, but we collaborate and support each other across the entire clinic. Currently, the pediatric team includes one nurse, one childcare worker, two social workers, one psychologist, and one physician. The existing pediatric team will be expanded with two positions: this nursing role and an additional social worker position. We also have access to a dietitian who works in the adult team as well. Your main focus will be patients under 18 years of age who need day care treatment for eating disorder issues. The day care program is intended to be a bridge between outpatient care and inpatient care, for when outpatient treatment alone is not sufficient and patients need extended support without overnight hospitalization. We work in therapeutic interventions based on the FBT treatment method in individual therapy and in family day care. It is independent work with the team as your support. As a nurse with us, you will also conduct somatic assessments and medical follow-ups. You may be responsible for telephone counseling and conducting assessments for new patients. You will serve as a primary contact for a portion of the clinic's patients, maintaining individual therapeutic relationships. Part of the work also involves collaborating with other agencies such as municipalities, the social insurance agency, and the employment service. About us The psychiatry department at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital includes several outpatient clinics, acute care units, and inpatient services. The Psychiatric Eating Disorder Clinic is an outpatient clinic located in Borås whose primary mission is to serve patients, both adults and children, with eating disorder issues. The clinic has approximately eighteen staff members. Work is characterized by collaboration in a multidisciplinary team including dietitians, physiotherapists, physicians, secretaries, nurses, care workers, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, and a unit manager. The team demonstrates consistently high competence, with many members holding specialist certifications and extensive experience. The group is characterized by collegial support, commitment to our work, ambition to develop and grow, and a good sense of humor. Your profile We are looking for you if you are a licensed psychiatric nurse or a licensed nurse with experience in psychiatric inpatient or outpatient care. We also see great value if you have training in CBT and/or other foundational psychotherapy training. It is also an asset if you have further education in eating disorder care and competence in FBT.
