What unites all these fields is an interest and need to develop new innovative detection methods for biological molecules as well as chemical and infectious substances. Technical Facilities Manager
Facilities Department Region Uppsala is a rapidly growing organization where Facilities and Services play a central role. The department has a turnover of just over one billion kronor and has approximately 400 employees. Operations include development, management and maintenance of approximately 760,000 square meters of facilities – from modern healthcare buildings to historic properties. In addition to facilities management, the department is also responsible for transportation, logistics solutions and meal services within the region. Customers are primarily within healthcare, where Akademiska Hospital is the largest. Our Operations The Facilities Department is responsible for developing and managing Region Uppsala's properties and providing facilities in both owned and leased buildings. We are now looking for a Technical Facilities Manager who wants to contribute to creating efficient and fit-for-purpose facilities in a technically advanced environment. Your Assignment As a Technical Facilities Manager, you are responsible for the technical management of the property portfolio with focus on function, operation, lifespan and long-term value development. The role is broad and generalist in nature, where you have overall responsibility for the technical systems of the properties such as ventilation, electricity, heating, cooling and control and monitoring systems. Unlike technical specialists who specialize in specific technical areas, as a Technical Facilities Manager you have a holistic perspective and ensure that all technical systems work together and function effectively based on operational needs. You work closely with facilities managers, operations organization, project department, technical specialists and external suppliers. The role involves identifying development needs, initiating and prioritizing technical measures, and participating in projects as a requirement setter and coordinating function. You are also responsible for analyzing maintenance needs, preparing documentation for investment and maintenance plans, and contributing to energy efficiency and sustainable solutions. The role also includes monitoring technical performance, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting operations on technical matters. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with technical education in areas such as real estate, installation, energy or construction, or equivalent work experience. You have a good understanding of property technical systems and how they interact in complex buildings. You thrive in a generalist role where you work broadly with multiple technical areas in parallel and have the ability to prioritize, coordinate and see the whole picture rather than specializing in a single technical discipline. Experience in technical management, operations or projects is advantageous. Knowledge in energy optimization, control and monitoring systems and applicable regulatory requirements is an advantage. You have good system skills and work in a structured manner with follow-up, analysis and documentation. Our Department At the acute geriatric care ward 30A, the focus is on the older, frail person. We provide acute medical care with a rehabilitative approach for elderly patients with complex medical conditions and care needs. As an experienced nurse, you will use all your combined competence and experience around the patient. Geriatric care is conducted according to a clear structure specially adapted for the elderly patient and their needs. In geriatric care, teamwork is central – both the collaboration of the multiprofessional team and the patient's participation are important parts of care. As a nurse at 30A, you constantly work with others and thereby gain broad knowledge in various areas and a holistic view of the patient with different types of needs. To the acute geriatric care ward, approximately half of the patients come via the emergency department, and the rest come through direct admission (from ambulance or primary care team) or by referral from other departments within the hospital. Your Mission Within geriatrics, we work with renewed methods such as daily management, medical reconciliation, and CGA (Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment). The goal of these approaches is to increase the quality of care by involving the patient in their care and improving the work environment by ensuring the right person does the right things. This is ongoing work that develops and is continuously evaluated, and here you have the chance to contribute with your knowledge and experience. When you as a newly graduated nurse feel ready, there are several opportunities for you to specialize in one of the responsibility areas, such as nutrition, elimination, which we have at the ward.
