Facilities Department Region Uppsala is a rapidly growing organization where Facilities and Services play a central role. The department has a turnover of just over one billion kronor and has approximately 400 employees. Operations include development, management and maintenance of approximately 760,000 square meters of facilities – from modern healthcare buildings to historic properties. In addition to facilities management, the department is also responsible for transportation, logistics solutions and meal services within the region. Customers are primarily within healthcare, where Akademiska Hospital is the largest. Our Operations The Facilities Department is responsible for developing and managing Region Uppsala's properties and providing facilities in both owned and leased buildings. Work takes place in close cooperation with the region's operations where facilities are adapted for everything from advanced healthcare and public transportation to cultural and administrative purposes. The department currently consists of nine facilities managers. The workplace is located in modern facilities on the Akademiska Hospital campus in Uppsala. We are now looking for a Technical Facilities Manager who wants to contribute to creating efficient and fit-for-purpose facilities in a technically advanced environment. The role offers developmental work with a stable and long-term employer. Your Assignment As a Technical Facilities Manager, you are responsible for the technical management of the property portfolio with focus on function, operation, lifespan and long-term value development. The role is broad and generalist in nature, where you have overall responsibility for the technical systems of the properties such as ventilation, electricity, heating, cooling and control and monitoring systems. Unlike technical specialists who specialize in specific technical areas, as a Technical Facilities Manager you have a holistic perspective and ensure that all technical systems work together and function effectively based on operational needs. You work closely with facilities managers, operations organization, project department, technical specialists and external suppliers. The role involves identifying development needs, initiating and prioritizing technical measures, and participating in projects as a requirement setter and coordinating function. You are also responsible for analyzing maintenance needs, preparing documentation for investment and maintenance plans, and contributing to energy efficiency and sustainable solutions. The role also includes monitoring technical performance, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting operations on technical matters. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with technical education in areas such as real estate, installation, energy or construction, or equivalent work experience. You have a good understanding of property technical systems and how they interact in complex buildings. You thrive in a generalist role where you work broadly with multiple technical areas in parallel and have the ability to prioritize, coordinate and see the whole picture rather than specializing in a single technical discipline. Experience in technical management, operations or projects is advantageous. Knowledge in energy optimization, control and monitoring systems and applicable regulatory requirements is an advantage. You have good system skills and work in a structured manner with follow-up, analysis and documentation. Your Competence As a person you are analytical and solution-oriented, with good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate technical issues in a clear and educational manner. You are self-driven, take responsibility and drive matters forward while maintaining a holistic perspective on the property's technical function and long-term development.
