Do you want to help increase awareness about the importance of sustainable Uppsala? Would you like to work operatively with communications and help create engaging content with broad reach? We are now seeking a communications manager with a focus on social media for a temporary position covering parental leave, starting in late September.
About the Role
In this role, you will work operatively with communications, with particular responsibility for the company's social media. The focus is on planning, producing, and publishing content across our existing channels while helping to strengthen our brand in everyday interactions.
You will, among other things:
• plan, create, and publish content on our social media channels (organic and paid)
• adapt content according to brand, target audiences, and channel
• follow up on and optimize content and campaigns
• support and participate in communications initiatives and campaigns
• produce photo, graphic, and video material
• develop other communications materials, such as printed materials
• be part of our on-call service KIB (communications manager on standby)
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who is confident in practical communications work and has a particular interest in social media and content production.
We see that you have:
• education in media and communications, marketing, or equivalent
• several years of experience with operative communications work, with a focus on social media
• excellent writing and message adaptation skills for different target audiences (plain language)
• strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Express)
• experience with social media publishing tools
It is a merit if you:
• have experience with basic video production (filming, editing, and adapting for social media)
• have worked with campaigns in digital channels (including paid social)
About Your Placement
You will become part of the marketing and communications department, which consists of communications managers, customer service staff, and environmental educators. You will report to the marketing and communications manager.
Your workplace is located at our offices in Uppsala Business Park, with the possibility of remote work.
Employment Type
This is a temporary position covering parental leave for approximately 12 months. The start date is by agreement, preferably September 28, 2026.

Additional Information
A large part of our operations is classified as a critical service since we supply Sweden's fourth-largest city with drinking water. You must also be prepared for civil defense placement within Uppsala Vatten and Waste's role in total defense. Uppsala Vatten applies a 6-month probationary period. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting.
