Work Tasks and Responsibilities As a program planner, you may participate in one or more program management groups and are administratively responsible for coordination and handling. Program management groups are responsible for developing and ensuring quality in our educational programs. Your work will primarily include: Preparation of matters, such as course and education plans Following up on and supporting the work of the programs Educational offerings Handling of individual cases Contact with departments on educational matters Contact with other programs and program planners, as well as with management, other functions within the organization, and students Development of procedures and administrative processes together with your colleagues. In your role, you will have particular responsibility for ensuring legally sound handling and that program management groups comply with the laws, ordinances, and administrative regulations applicable to the higher education sector and Lund University. The European Spallation Source (ESS) is one of the largest science and technology infrastructure projects being built today. ESS will soon be the world's most powerful source of neutrons, providing researchers with unique opportunities to explore the structure of materials at the atomic level. Neutron scattering at ESS will address critical questions in physics, chemistry, geology, materials science and life science. ESS is now inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Engineer in robotics and computer vision to work within the ASTRIND project to conduct research on, develop, and integrate an automated sample alignment system based on robotics and computer vision for the BEER instrument at ESS. About the ASTRIND project: Funded by the Röntgen-Ångström Cluster, this German-Swedish collaboration aims to enhance strain and texture measurements at ESS's BEER diffractometer by transferring and extending robotic, vision, and simulation technologies developed at STRESS-SPEC (MLZ Munich). The project will improve alignment, motion planning, and sample exchange through multi-view camera tracking, integrated robot and hexapod control, and a BEER digital twin for calibration, collision-aware trajectory planning, and workflow validation. Additional tools for 3D-based measurement-point selection and in-situ digital image correlation will support advanced experiments. Cross-facility demonstrations between BEER and STRESS-SPEC will establish reproducible, standardized, and higher-throughput engineering diffraction workflows with improved data quality and industrial relevance. About the role: This position combines robotics, computer vision, software development, and a moderate amount of experimental work with neutron diffraction technique to support the development and deployment of advanced sample alignment systems for the BEER instrument. University Lecturer in Experimental Medical Science

Employment This is a permanent position as University Lecturer in Experimental Medicine, based at the Department of Experimental Medical Science (EMV) or the Department of Laboratory Medicine (ILM). Departmental affiliation will be determined at the time of appointment. Job Responsibilities The primary responsibility is to lead and develop education at undergraduate and advanced levels in experimental medicine. The appointee is expected to be prepared to take central leadership roles at the course or program level within the Medical and/or Biomedical programs. The position also includes teaching and examination within the Biomedical programs and/or the basic level of the Medical program (terms 1–5), where various forms of active learning are applied. As a guideline, teaching, educational leadership, and pedagogical development work are expected to constitute approximately 70% of working time over time. Duties related to doctoral education may also be included. The educational mission is thus the primary focus of the position. In addition to the educational responsibilities, the position involves actively conducting research in experimental medicine. The position also includes duties typically associated with a University Lecturer position, such as administration and internal and external trust assignments at national and international levels. Other duties may also occur. Qualifications According to the Higher Education Ordinance (4 kap 4 §), to be eligible for appointment as a lecturer, an applicant must have demonstrated pedagogical competence and have earned a doctoral degree or possess equivalent scientific competence or other professional expertise relevant to the subject matter and duties of the position. According to Lund University's employment regulations, applicants must have completed at least five weeks of higher education pedagogy training or acquired equivalent knowledge to be eligible, unless there are special reasons not to. If the appointee is deemed to have special reasons for not having completed five weeks of higher education pedagogy training at the start of employment, such training must be completed within two years of taking office. Swedish language proficiency equivalent to at least level C2 according to the Council of Europe's proficiency scale is a requirement for this position. For teachers at Lund University, the general eligibility requirement is to be suitable and have the ability otherwise needed to perform the duties well. Assessment Criteria Applicants must have demonstrated pedagogical, scientific, and administrative competence relevant to the subject area, with particular weight given to pedagogical competence.
