At Stegra, we believe the future of industry must be sustainable — and we're building it from the ground up. Now, we're looking for a skilled Mechanic who wants to play a hands-on role in shaping the future of green industry. You will work with maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. A bit about the role As a Mechanic at Stegra, you'll be part of the Mechanical Maintenance team and support the daily operation of production and industrial equipment. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and improvement work across mechanical systems and machinery. What you'll do Perform maintenance and repair work on industrial equipment and machinery. Support daily operations by troubleshooting technical issues and minimizing downtime. Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable production. Collaborate with operators, technicians, and other departments to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency. Participate in inspections, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities. Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized working environment. Follow established maintenance routines, safety procedures, and company standards. What you'll bring Experience working as a mechanic in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments. Practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is considered an advantage. Relevant vocational education in mechanics, maintenance, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience. Good understanding of workplace safety standards and safe maintenance practices. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to work shifts when required. Good knowledge of English; Swedish is a plus. What you'll get If you're passionate about making a real difference and contributing to a more sustainable future, Stegra offers a unique opportunity to be part of a driven and ambitious team. Here, you can help shape the future of steel production while growing your career in a company that values inclusion, collaboration, and personal development. A permanent position in one of Sweden's most exciting industrial projects. Competitive salary and benefits package aligned with collective agreements. 25 days of annual leave in accordance with Swedish labor standards. Relocation support, including housing assistance and travel support where applicable. Visa sponsorship support where applicable. Modern facilities focused on safety, sustainability, and innovation. A supportive and inclusive workplace where people are encouraged to grow and thrive. Working in Boden Our Boden site is located in the heart of Northern Sweden's growing green industrial hub, where we are building one of the world's most modern and sustainable industrial plants. With close access to nature, outdoor activities, and a strong local community, Boden offers a unique combination of innovation and quality of life. Your application Studies show that women and underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. At Stegra, we're building an inclusive and impact-driven company — and we need diverse perspectives to make it happen. If you're excited about this opportunity but don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right fit for this role — or another as we continue to grow. About Stegra Stegra is on a mission to transform the global steel industry through green hydrogen, iron, and steel production — with the ambition to eliminate CO₂ emissions. By replacing coal with green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, our primary emissions will be water and heat instead of carbon dioxide. By 2030, our goal is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually at our fully integrated and digitized plant in Boden, Sweden — currently under construction. This is just the beginning of our journey toward decarbonizing heavy industry and building a more sustainable future.
