Don't hesitate to apply for this position with us at Tidaholms Municipality! About the Work We are seeking personal assistants for assignments with service users of varying ages (6–62 years). Working as a personal assistant means supporting and accompanying the service user in their daily life. You provide support in personal care, activities, household tasks, and in everyday life in general. The work also involves carrying out delegated healthcare tasks, providing support in rehabilitation efforts, and using assistive devices prescribed by rehabilitation services. You will also work with cognitive and educational support, and use yourself as a tool to work with low emotional affect and engagement strategies in interaction with the service user. Care and support are provided based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination. You have a statutory and professional responsibility for designated work tasks according to LSS (Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities) and HSL (Health and Medical Services Act). Documentation in activity systems and medication management are part of the assignment. We use several digital tools. An important part of the assignment is to respect the service user's will and self-determination, and provide support without taking over more than necessary, as the goal of personal assistance is to enable as independent and meaningful a life as possible. The work must also be adapted to the service user's age and individual needs, since, for example, a child and an adult have different conditions and daily routines. Since the work takes place in the service user's home, a professional approach is required where the assistant shows respect for the home as a private space, follows procedures, and is discreet. Finally, it is important to collaborate with others and follow implementation plans and instructions to ensure safety, quality, and continuity in the services. The position may involve working alone and requires responsibility, flexibility, and a good ability to work independently as well as in a team with dual assistance. We work with joint planning, so introductions and work shifts with multiple service users also occur. Working as a personal assistant is an enjoyable and varied job where you are a social support and, together with the service user, carry out and participate in various activities both inside and outside the home based on their wishes and needs. Working hours vary and the work involves day/evening shifts, 24-hour shifts with on-call sleeping hours, and every other weekend. Qualifications We expect you to be trained as a nursing assistant, care assistant, support assistant, or have other education that the employer considers equivalent, as the work involves significant medical responsibility. Communication regarding medication, working according to implementation plans and procedures, and documentation are some of the daily tasks, so you must be able to communicate clearly in speech and writing in Swedish. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and has good knowledge in care. As a personal assistant, you need patience and the ability to meet the service user in their needs and daily life. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Since there may be pets in the home, you must be comfortable with furry animals. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required so you can take outings with the service user. The position also requires that you have Bank-ID. What We Offer As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful daily life for others while developing professionally. We offer internal training and good employment conditions according to collective agreements. You also have the opportunity to influence the work with the service user as well as in the assistance team overall. As an employer, Tidaholms Municipality values a health-promoting work environment, good working conditions, and engaged leadership that supports your development. Those of us who work here are driven by creating a positive difference for our residents and being proud ambassadors for our municipality. Welcome to become part of our community and contribute to a sustainable and forward-looking municipality. Employment and Application These are permanent positions with a start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply. Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period, so apply today but no later than September 13, 2026. For this position, you must provide an acceptable certificate from the criminal record registry, so it is good to obtain this in good time via the Police Authority's website.
